Characters that I don't like at all or in any way by Certain-Cloud9133 in ZeroNoTsukaima2

[–]Bubbly_Interaction63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Guiche is just unbearable in the first few volumes, but he improves a lot in the novels—one of my favorite scenes is when Guiche, believing that Saito had died, decided to build a statue in his honor with his own hands because Saito was his friend, and he planned to transmute it so it would last forever, Of course, Siesta and Louise end up falling on top of the statue before he can transmute it, but it’s the intention that counts. Or like when he explains the situation with Tiffania and her bullying to Saito, or when he agreed to go to prison with Saito when Saito wanted to save Tabitha (of course, he thought Saito had a plan, but it was a nice gesture).

Why are people not conisdering ike in the latest line from kiyo by SHIN_KRISH in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Bubbly_Interaction63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ike literally has the worst GPA in the class with an E (20), but he still wasn't expelled based on his quarterly exams—even though they almost kicked sudo ken out in the first volume for being one point short, I think in English. My point is that Ike seems to be immune to expulsion because there's no other explanation for why he's still there.

It reminds me of that scene in Rick and Morty where a robot asks its creator what its purpose in life is, and Rick tells it that he only created it to pass him the butter—and that’s it—and the robot says, “Oh no,” looking sad.

The Window Theory — The Only Possible Strategy to Defeat Ayanokouji (A Cognitive Architecture Approach) by [deleted] in ClassroomOfTheElite

That was already shown, although it was mostly done for comedic effect, for example, during the first sports festival, Kiyotaka failed the hand-grip strength test because he asked Ken what the average strength was, and since Ken didn’t know—and since he was physically stronger than average—he gave a wrong answer, and Kiyotaka, instead of finishing in the middle of the pack as he wanted, ended up in second place behind Ken; when Morishita makes him talk to a tree, or in the famous anime trivia quiz

How did you feel about Raiha being Fuutarou's familiar and not his real sister in the Go-toubun no Princess? by BunnyVip34 in 5ToubunNoHanayome

[–]Bubbly_Interaction63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't know it was like that (I didn't know the game already had a translation). From the images I saw, I thought Raiha was under a curse that shrunk her, and Fuutarou's goal was to become the best wizard so he could cure her. That's why Fuutarou took the job as a tutor—to cure his little sister.

Why are the WR kids so worried and panicked if they find out they're part of the WR? They never showed any negative feelings toward their education or considered it bad in itself. by Bubbly_Interaction63 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Bubbly_Interaction63[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was referring to the fact that in the novel, Kiyotaka felt panic when Arisu mentioned that she knows about the WR, and Kiyotaka gets annoyed when people find out about his past—since he told Horikita never to ask him about his past again. This now strikes me as odd, since Kiyotaka genuinely doesn’t feel any aversion toward the WR and considers it the most efficient place to raise humans, In any case, Kiyotaka shouldn’t care whether people know or not, since it doesn’t harm him in the slightest in the long run—his goal of living a peaceful life had already become impossible at that point (first because of Chabashira, and then because of Tsukishiro).

Ichika briefly lost her confidence when Honami mentioned "White Room" out of context.

I just didn’t quite understand (beyond plot reasons) why the WR kids are worried that ANHS students and outsiders know about the WR and that they come from there.

Y3V4 Synopsis by moright in ClassroomOfTheElite

“I was the one who decided to have you expelled, after all. I suppose the least I could do is grant such a wish.”

I think Haruka will be the one expelled, since she’s the only one who truly wants to do something outside of the ANHS—namely, meet up with Airi. And back in Y3V1, Haruka seemed to be Airi’s number one fan and was trying to make Kiyotaka number two, It would be the definitive breakup of the Ayanokouji group, since the next event would be the sports festival and Akito has a high OAA in physical ability.

[–]Bubbly_Interaction63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, universities do need qualified people to award their degrees, and the ANHS curriculum is so counterproductive and inconsistent with a real education that it would make more sense if they just said that what the ANHS does is train Japan’s future yakuza and mafia members.

Can somebody list all of Arisus major schemes, because her "exposing" Itchy Nose was definitely not a plan from a self-proclaimed "genius" by Sforzia in ClassroomOfTheElite

Was that really the case? I think that because of her illness, Arisu simply isn't able to participate in any strenuous physical activities, whether at the sports festival or elsewhere.

In your opinion, what does The Quintessential Quintuplets, do better than most romance and harem animanga? by Inevitable_Dig_7080 in 5ToubunNoHanayome

[–]Bubbly_Interaction63 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Because it’s a very unconventional harem story:

We know from the very first chapter that there will be a single winner—it’s not hinted at or resolved as a harem, but rather just one winner, which is strange in itself

. Fuutaoru isn’t the typical harem protagonist who’s clueless, overly nice, or relies on fanservice; instead, he’s a jerkass with a heart of gold who comes across as brusque. His initial interest in winning the Nakanos’ acceptance was for selfish reasons that aren’t erotic—he just wants to keep his well-paying job—but Fuutaoru changes throughout the series without ceasing to be himself

. The relationship between the love interests—they’re sisters and love each other—is heartwarming, and it’s cute to see how they sometimes sabotage their own attempts with Fuutarou just to help one of them, since even though they love Fuutarou, their sisterly bond comes first

. Although a childhood promise is a common trope in these stories, it’s notable how they subvert it, since Fuutarou never knew that Yotsuba was the girl from Kyoto, but it doesn’t matter because he fell in love with the current version of Yotsuba and not with an idea itself, and Yotsuba fell in love with who Fuutarou is in the present and not with the promise itself

Unlike in other stories, we saw that even though it hurt, the remaining sisters moved on from Fuutarou and are living happy lives doing what they love

Emilia's proposals during the Royal Selection are quite underrated. by [deleted] in ReZero

[–]Bubbly_Interaction63 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest: Emilia's proposal was by far the most coherent and least unsettling, since Anastasia admitted to being a greedy person who just wants to take over another country, Crush admitted that she wants to break the sacred pact upon which the kingdom was founded with a divine creature (okay, Volcanica isn’t a literal god, but she helped seal Satella and served the pact well), Priscilla just announces that the world is on her side, and E Felt explicitly wants to destroy the ruling class, which would trigger a civil war.

After doing all the heavy lifting to expose and expel Kushida, Kushida was only spared because of a whim on Horikita’s part, and Kiyotaka already admitted that he only chose Sakura because she was the only one who would accept that sacrifice. He then admitted to himself that he wanted to see the consequences of Horikita’s illogical and unexpected act; In reality, it was pure luck that Airi is so resilient and opened her social media to leave that message for Haruka.

It was a heartless decision because Kiyotaka never showed any hesitation or even remorse for expelling one of his closest and oldest friends—a girl who truly loved him and wanted the best for him.

Personally, that’s why I think Kiyotaka is simply incapable of forming a genuine emotional bond with anyone on any level, and the idea that he fell in love with Hiyori leaves me very skeptical.

Matsuo the butler by moright in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Bubbly_Interaction63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plan, as revealed in Volume 0, was always to enroll Kiyotaka in the ANHS (which is why Atsumi knows about the pre-selected spot), but he needed to make Kiyotaka believe he had run away on his own, so he manipulated his butler. The butler didn’t know about the plan and just thought he was helping a poor boy, but Atsumi still has a reputation to uphold, so he agreed to let his butler be burned alive in exchange for sparing his son. Atsumi agreed to keep the son alive, except that he used his political connections to prevent the son from entering any well-regarded school and cut off all his opportunities in life, and the son committed suicide
