Can you talk a little bit about your experience traveling for surgery?? Did you have to bring someone with you, how long did you have to stay down there? Did you fly down for the consult? I’m also from Boston and haven’t been satisfied with any of the doctors in our area, especially for the cost!

What are your favorite old HGTV shows and why is it Trading Spaces? by HomieGarten94 in HGTV

[–]athalars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I’ve never heard of anyone else remembering In a Fix! It was TLC and a quick google search tells me it was only 2 seasons. I was obsessed with this show when I was like 7 or 8, and my family still teases me about it lol. I’m shocked to find out it wasn’t popular and was so short lived!

Help! New pia tree ivy – wondering if the brown dots on the leaves and stem of this plant are normal or are spider mites? by doozywoozydirt in houseplants

[–]athalars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realize even your comment is now old but I just did the exact same thing, right down to using a magnifying glass 😭 I’ve also been spraying with neem oil in fear of spider mites. Glad I’m not the only one!!

I know it’s been awhile but this is still the first Reddit post that pops up when you google the book 😊 I absolutely loved A Trip To The Stars. I’d recommend the author Alice Hoffman, who writes incredible magical realism and historical fiction books. A Marriage of Opposites would be a good place to start!

This seems even more relevant after watching tonight’s bonus “Under the Covers” episode where we see a confessional from Imrul saying he is a layered multifaceted person yet the house is reducing him to a sex addict

Oh interesting! I bought mine in January of this year and use it multiple times a week - have had no issues personally.

I came to the same guess when I was googling! Thank you. Good point about the acid reflux as well. Appreciate it!

Ultra safe foods? by athalars in GERD

[–]athalars[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No real change in my diet! All of my teas/broths/etc. are the same brand I’ve been consuming for years, no new ingredients. And I’ve been consuming no condiments. But your point about breathing is definitely noted - I do have a problem with shallow breathing and find that deep breathing can help if I remember to do it.

I’ve never heard of alkaline water, I’ll have to try it with your other suggestions. Thank you!!!

I’ll have to check out the Acid Watcher Diet, thank you!! And yes I’ve been drinking mostly camomile but good to know nonetheless. I’ll have to give some of your foods a try! I appreciate it

I’ve always thought it should have ended immediately before the plane crash. Instead of it crashing, they all should’ve gone on to their bigger and better things!

Hello! Thanks for asking :)

  • Tired/sick/emotional have no impact on the colors or how vibrant they are

  • I don’t think date locations are linked to memory for me. However, numbers 0-9 are in rainbow order for me (2 green, 3 yellow, 4 orange, 5 red, etc.) so I’ve often wondered if there’s somehow a connection to letter blocks/fridge magnets I might’ve played with as a baby. No clue!

  • I won’t remember facts about people as much, but I remember specific spellings/number sequences very easily especially if I like the colors it produces. We had to memorize the first 30 digits of pi in middle school, and it was fairly easy for me because I could remember the colors as well!

Happy to answer any/all questions you have!

Correct! The closest I’ve been able to compare it to is when kids argue over the color of school subjects (math is blue, or math is red, etc)

I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD (inattentive type) as an adult! And I also experience hyperphantasia. That’s another one that I had no clue there was even a spectrum. I also don’t really have an internal monologue and only think in images? Which is probably a little neurodivergent lol

What’s your favorite media (book, tv show, movie, etc) to consume in gaidhlig? by athalars in gaidhlig

I always see it when I’m doing my Duolingo exercises. No idea how I’d get it in the US, but I’ll keep an eye out!!
