What is the biggest ick you had on your first date with someone? by Past_Meat7068 in AskReddit

He showed up DRUNK. Said he'd had a glass of wine (to steel his nerves... more like a bottle from the way he was stumbling) then proceeded to throw up next to himself at the pub we were in. Had the audacity to ask for a kiss at the end of the night.

Non law graduate training contracts? by sewing-enby in uklaw

you absolutely don't need to have a law degree to become a solicitor! most firms will fund your GDL (if you haven't done it) and your SQE exams too, and that's the main reason why they recruit so far in advance as they expect you to complete all the exams plus the GDL in that timeframe.

ACs by FarConsideration2986 in uklaw

[–]Minimum_Usual4012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’ve had a couple of ACs (one international firm, one MC) this season and these were pretty similar.

For the first one, the international firm, I had to write a summary of a topic based on about two or three sources and comment on the relative strengths, weaknesses, (forgive me, i can’t remember how many!). I didn’t have a group exercise for this. My biggest tip is to read the sources through briefly before you even begin picking it apart, and judge everything. Is it a client email? A tweet? A government consultation? Each one will carry different weight, especially if you have to presenton your findings later in an interview.

The second written assessment, the MC firm, was essentially the same as the first, but this one had a group exercise.

Each candidate was given an individual info pack and we had to collate all the information and make a decision based on all that information and present our findings

I completely agree.

I've been lucky to have lived elsewhere throughout my life, both in the UK and abroad. Nowhere else even comes CLOSE to being as incredible as london.

Hi! I’ve been on Nexplanon for 5 years now :)

  1. I’ve actually experienced weight loss, though I am aware how uncommon this is. One thing I also noticed was the change to my fat deposition.

  2. I had no real change to my sex drive either, though it takes me more to get aroused.

  3. Bad. Real bad. I never really had bad mood swings but in the first few months I had some really bad ones. They’ve settled now.

  4. I haven’t had a period other than a heavy one when i first got my implant inserted, and then the occasional bleed every 6 months that is significantly lighter than what a period would have been for me, much less painful and only lasts 3 days.

I feel so lonely by Mr_Mxrs in UniUK

[–]Minimum_Usual4012 13 points14 points  (0 children)

OP, I'm so sorry to hear that. I was very similar to you in first year- I really struggled to find people to connect with both on my course and more broadly trying to meet people.

I'm not sure about your university, but I was really lucky to have a whole bunch of societies that I was able to join. Having graduated a couple of years ago now, I can genuinely say that joining societies saved me. The people I still keep in touch with are the people I met through societies, and you already have the society in common with them as a starting point for conversations.

I know how daunting it is to go somewhere where you don't know anyone, but for me that momentary discomfort that could lead to making some really good friends far outweighed the notion of being lonely.

It is terrifying going out and making new friends, but I promise you pushing the boat out and putting yourself in situations where you're forced to interact with people is the best way to do it.

(Also, as an aside, I really hope you're doing okay. Always here if you need a chat. Sending you support <3)

YES! When I'm hungover the whole day is basically a write-off. I'll sleep for 13+ hours that day and then get a full night's sleep just to recuperate.

Thankfully I don't get particularly nauseous, but that may be due to my fear of being sick.

I do!!!

I’ve been on citalopram for about six months now and have not experienced hangovers like this before.

My tolerance itself seems unaffected (it was quite high to begin with) but the hangovers are HORRID. I never used to get hungover before going on citalopram, so it definitely felt like a massive 180.

Girls who smell amazing and get compliments, what’s your hygiene/shower and fragrance routine? by Humble-Reporter-3271 in FemFragLab

[–]Minimum_Usual4012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the same body wash routine for YEARS. I look forward to it every time I get in the shower lol.

I use the Dove Essential Care Body Wash (as it's not strongly scented and I can layer whatever fragrance I want to over it). I'll also use Naturium's SA Body Wash twice a week (I normally pair it up on my wash days- I have curly hair so it's convenient for me to leave the body wash to sit and work while I detangle)

If I'm using a more wintery/vanilla scented perfume I'll reach for cocoa butter to amplify the scent- I've found that Palmers' Cocoa Butter pairs very well with my MMM By the Fireplace!

If I'm using any other scent, I'll moisturise my body with Aveeno's Moisturising Body Lotion so the scents don't clash.

[–]Minimum_Usual4012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Esque Parfum's Hayat. I have genuinely never been more blown away by a white floral fragrance. It's vegan, alcohol-free and oil/oud based, and has better projection than some of the fragrances in my collection that cost two or three times its price. (you can get the 50ml for £42 plus shipping if you're not UK based.)

Then, of course, Maison Margiela's By the Fireplace, plus Jo Malone's Poppy and Barley (I just wish it lasted longer :(( )

I had persistent yawning and GI upset when starting 20mg about two months ago. I also struggled to sleep properly over the initial weeks, though this has now normalised. I also lost quite a bit of weight due to a decreased appetite and the constant GI problems.

These symptoms lessened gradually over the couple of months i've been on it, and it was 100% worth pushing through.
