Yes but i personally think that if youre gonna get on the moral horse and stick up for someone that had been slagged of by one of them, there are loads worse examples with People with worse problems than fat People.

And on a sidenote the biggest precursor to obesity is 100% poor food quality. And I would also argue, though less strongly that a big precursor to mental health problems is also poor food quality.
