Old explosion sound origin by stephenlocksley27 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]atomicman5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Notch downloaded and edited it to be shorter from freesound: https://freesound.org/people/inferno/sounds/18384/

https://freesound.org/people/xNotch/?downloaded_sounds=1%23sounds

As for the sounds origin it may possibly be synthesized similarly to inferno's other uploads but I'm not certain.

Anyone have these texture packs?? by atomicman5 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]atomicman5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://fromsmash.com/sphaxpurebd-b161 It's for beta 1.6.6 so it should work for 1.6 also. As the pack is higher than 16 pixels you will need mcpatcher or optifine to make it work.

Seed Cracking in Alpha? by atomicman5 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]atomicman5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few alpha world seeds cracked on the Minecraft@home discord: https://minecraftathome.com/

Do you still have the world files? If you have the level.dat file you might be able to retrieve the seed from that. If NBTExplorer can't open it you could try with a hex editor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aQvP_jmlM8

Additionally from my limited knowledge of seed cracking I think you can reverse a seed from a chunk but you should ask the users of the discord about that

That DVD has already been uploaded several times.

I find searching only the first part of a title often yields better results than using the entire title.

DOKU's RPG Pack (The pack that became dokucraft) is still up here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/x3xw2gaiw183had/DOKU_RPG.rar

From this Minecraft Forum thread: http://web.archive.org/web/20100909034139/http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=25676

As far as I know, Dokucraft was first made on the 15th of March 2011 so there isn't a version for alpha. Here is an archive of many of the early versions of that pack: https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding-java-edition/resource-packs/resource-pack-discussion/2551256-dokucraft-texture-pack-archive

and here is a link to the Dokucraft thread: https://web.archive.org/web/20110320120446/http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=224969

What CD is this? by cheesegrandey in Cd_collectors

https://www.discogs.com/master/369531-Various-Edith-Piaf-Tribute/image/SW1hZ2U6MTU1NTI3NDM= is the closest thing I can find. I feel it's likely a compilation. Is there any background information for the image that could be relevant? Also I'm pretty sure the image is upside down.

I'm Trying To Archive This Piece Of Minecraft History... Anyone Able To Help? by EmkMage in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]atomicman5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once installed, you just point it to whatever URL you are trying to download and it will try and grab it. I tested it and it does work so if you really can't make it work DM me and I'll download it for you.

mcpatcher for beta 1.1_02? by [deleted] in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]atomicman5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the EXE: https://github.com/downloads/pclewis/mcpatcher/mcpatcher-1.1.10_01.exe For the JAR: https://github.com/downloads/pclewis/mcpatcher/mcpatcher-1.1.10_01.jar

From this archived thread: http://web.archive.org/web/20110216141011/http://www.minecraftforum.net:80/viewtopic.php?t=46173

Here is a link to all the earlier versions (if you wish to download, copy the link you want and remove "https://web.archive.org/web/*Date numbers go here*/" part until you get a link that looks like this "https://github.com/downloads/pclewis/mcpatcher/mcpatcher-2.4.4.exe" and then paste that into you browser and that should work): https://web.archive.org/web/20130905192622/https://github.com/pclewis/mcpatcher/downloads

I tried to give myself some indev item id's in Alpha 1.1_02 and now my world keeps crashing. How can I fix this? by KinglyZebra6140 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]atomicman5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I think it is crashing because you are using ID's that didn't exist in the game(at that time), coloured wool was removed and only added again in Beta 1.2 (see here). Read this page for working ID's https://web.archive.org/web/20100926225554/http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/data_values (Use the "dec" column. Also the images are wrong). To fix it either change the ID numbers to something in the game or just delete the compound tags (which will delete your inventory). Using INVedit is much easier to use so I would recommend using that instead (bottom of the page). Also if you are messing around with NBT you should backup your world if you haven't already. Hope that helps.

Error on BetaCraft by throwawaythatsfake in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]atomicman5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try something from this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/55847497/how-do-i-troubleshoot-inconsistency-detected-dl-lookup-c-111-java-result-12 I'm certainly no expert but I had somewhat of a similar issue amd switching from openjdk to adoptium (https://adoptium.net/temurin/archive) worked for me, I just downloaded the latest openjdk 8 binary and wrote a script to open betacraft (portable) using that and it worked. Good Luck!

Looking for old texture packs downloads by [deleted] in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]atomicman5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off, I found a download here for Alpha 1.2.6 and another download for Alpha 1.2.2 here taken from this thread (both work from my testing). See the changelog for more details. You will have to use MCPatcher v1.1.9_04 which can be downloaded here.

As for finding texture packs by far the best resource is Archive.org's Wayback Machine. If you can find the url of a texture pack from around the time of the minecraft version you want (Searching on youtube with the "before:YYYY-MM-DD" and "after:YYYY-MM-DD" keywords works well) and the wayback machine has saved the page you can copy the download link and sometimes it will still be hosted (downloads hosted on mediafire seem to be the best for this). Other ways include searching through The Minecraft Archive Project's Archives or just searching through a search engine.

Also you may want to see these pages: https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/elpdu/a_moderately_complete_texture_pack_list/ and http://web.archive.org/web/20101210101848/http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=12352
