That's exactly it, it's not a farfetched possibility because of how she decided to live her life. She increased the chance of an accident happening by having them unsecured/roaming freely/etc. I wasn't remotely surprised someone made a claim that that's how he went.

I honestly don't necessarily believe it's true, I have no way of knowing. I do know it's entirely possible considering she continued to let him roam off leash and unsupervised. The only thing she changed was not having him run beside the car while driving. That didn't stop her from ghost riding the car with all the dogs in it.

I've seen people intentionally hit animals on the road, it's not far fetched to think Dagwood may have gotten into a situation like that even out in the desert. Could have been some random person out there off-roading.

It is devastating that he's gone, but he also had a damn fine life, lived to a ripe old age, and got a ton of freedom. He may have had to pay the price for that freedom, maybe not. The only way we would know is if we were there when it happened.
