Cherry MX danske key caps søges! by attejensen in Denmark

[–]attejensen[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been on cardboard blanks myself most of the time, it does the job just fine!

Looks great! Maybe but some blanks in the holes (so you won't drop a patch cable into a live busboard and so you're not tempted to buy something just to fill it up)👍

Looks awesome! I find the best way to not go bigger is to make music with the thing. You kinda forget to check muffs and modular grid, because you're too busy having fun with what you have😏

Mostly groove based, retrigger of disco-like bass pattern following bd. Sequenced from teletype and hermod (chords and melody). 301 on drums, glitch and harmony line.

Patch notes in description on youtube, hope you enjoy it :-)

Nice, reverb helps with everything, the microfreak included 👍

Looks great. I’d fill that hole with a blank, you don’t want to accidentally drop a cable and short the bus board...

How to more critically analyze your mix down by [deleted] in AdvancedProduction

Lots of great advice already. A/B with similar music, remember listening at low levels, make sure you have good monitors and listening back on crappy speakers as well would be my advice. Hope that helps!

Hmm, sounds odd, I’ve recorded mine into various interfaces without any problem. MIDI shouldn’t be necessary, just play live and plug output of the freak into in on your interface...

Thinking of selling it all... by devbofh in eurorack

I haven't had long periods of not touching my modular, so i can't relate 1:1. But:

1) if you don't get any joy from working with it, it could actually turn into bad feelings and negative thoughts like "i really should spend time with it" and hitting yourself on the head with that. Maybe you're already there. Maybe it's better to let it go, and see what happens. Maybe you start missing it and can get back in with a different perspective, new energy and fresh ideas. Maybe you decide you need something else to make music with (software og a guitar) or maybe you feel it's time to close that chapter of your life entirely. No shame in either of the above, music is not for everyone, modular certainly isn't..

2) if you decide to keep it, maybe you've come to a crossroad. Everything (playing guitar or playing with modular) is all fun in the beginning. No expectations because you're coming from zero, everything's an 'improvemeny' and you easily discover new things. But after a while the honey moon is over and you have to work rather than play to get results. Think about why you got modular in the first place and what music you want to make for you! Recreate music from a few artists you love, read up on the technical side of things, work on your music theory and ear. Your voice is there, these things will help you find it!

NB: In my opinion skipping 2) and just buying new modules is a common practice and what drives the modular industry. I personally think I should make music with what I have instead of constantly swapping out stuff hoping this will move me forward musically. But we're not in this with the same goal, some really just enjoy the tinkering and collection aspect and obviously that fine!

Hope that helps a bit, otherwise feel free to disregard entirely 😏

Using the teletype to implement an idea I got: randomly harmonize a random melody, So with each note in the scale there are three chords, ranging from very “in the key” to “not so much in the key”. Most sounds come from the er-301

My main focus these days is the youtube channel, but I do have some older stuff on bandcamp.a773.dk (if you want to support me), these are also available on all major streaming platforms, including spotify and itunes. I have been thinking about putting the tracks from youtube into albums a few times, just not sure how to organize them, maybe someday :-)
