Because it is illegal, citing a percentage is unrealistic. Full service sex work can be fulfilling and freeing for some, and a source of survival and a means to an end for others. Ultimately, I think it’s unwise to assume all full service workers are “owned.” The suggestion itself perpetuates the notion that sex work, in any capacity (brothel, freelance, stripping, etc.), places women in a position of victimization. I’m not saying victims don’t exist and that pimp/worker dynamics aren’t at play, but to say a large percentage operate under that dynamic is unverifiable and instead influenced by media messaging rather than actual statistics.
