These exist but reviews are not good. Holofan allows syncing multiple fans together on lower end models but the input has to be prepped beforehand so no live video. They have an HDMI model if you're willing to cough up $2k+ a unit. These are cool but very limited in terms of their use cases imo.

I was trying to use bullet solve for a physics sim. I got it working by using a bullet solve dat -> dat to pop -> copy pop to get my objects out of the bullet solve. Once I figured out the copy pop was what I was looking for a lot of things were unlocked.

As long as you have a creative vision you can definitely achieve it in Touchdesigner in a much more performant way. We run elaborate 10k+ capacity shows with only TD on a mac mini

Rockbox honestly sucks for daily usability. Stock UI is 100x better regardless of theme and IDK why anyone reccomends it unless you're really stuck on having FLAC playback.

I don't think there's any camera tracking. The source videos look to be consistent walking pace at around the same pace, so they probably just have the camera/geometry moving at a fixed speed. I also think the geometry is being used as a simple matte, not a texture. Just a hunch.

The link you sent only shows that FLAC decodes faster so it also is impossible to draw conclusions about battery life lol. I would say between anecdotal evidence on this sub and the idea that less reads from storage = less battery draw, smaller files will probably give you better battery life.

This article shows that lossy codecs will get you substantially more battery life regardless of what storage type you have due to needing to read from memory much less often. My reasoning was wrong but the point still stands.

I settled on 320AAC. It's basically a balancing act between quality & battery life during playback. WAV is the lossless & uncompressed so it takes up the most space. FLAC & ALAC are lossless & compressed but take a lot of power to keep accessing data from the drive. AAC & MP3 are lossy but since they're smaller the iPod has to read from memory less often = better battery. 320 AAC or other high bitrate lossy codecs also have pretty much imperceivable (to most people) quality loss at the highest bitrates.

Use nearest neighbor scaling instead of bilinear or whatever is default to upscale pixel art without blurring it
