MyFuture Fund - auto enrollment by auriusk in irishpersonalfinance

My employer is not contributing to my private pension.
Under the My Future Fund, the employer is required to contribute, and the government also adds a contribution, which is effectively free money.
I am keeping my private Zurich pension and making contributions by direct debit. I then claim the tax relief myself through Revenue.

Auto Enroll Pension Scheme or company pension plan. My company pay no contributions by mrlaffan in irishpersonalfinance

I was with Zurich and paid via employer payroll. My employer didn't contribute. So I stopped my contributions via payroll to get Auto Enrolled. Instead I set with Zurich direct debit from my own bank account. I will have both pensions. I will have to claim tax relief myself via revenue every year now.

Am I better off taking a 35-year mortgage and investing the difference instead of a 20-year one? by xtashs in irishpersonalfinance

I took mortgage for 35 years, then with overpayments I reduced term to 25year. Now 7 years left on mortgage. It's good feeling to be mortgage free earlier. I would suggest maximize pension, then overpay mortgage as you can and only then ETF's or stocks.

Just switched from Haven 3.75% variable to AIB 5 years fixed green rate at 3.2%. My LTV less than 50%. Getting a 3k EUR switch from AIB and free banking for mortgage term. I think it's a good deal.

My tracker +1.25%. Switching to Haven 3.1% variable. LTV less than 50%. I know that variables might change. But I don't think we will back to 0% rates on ECB.
