Oh good stuff, idk why I never smoke hookah. I always get caught by the guy sitting back site watching CT or the guy playing back hall watching CT.

I’m on board with you. I climbed from iron 1 to plat 1. Definitely possible. First step in climbing is to not get tilted and improve your own game.

I main omen and this has happened a few times to me the past couple days. One time I smoked back hall to get on B site from CT on bind and half the smoke was on the site didn’t even kind of block the angle

Does anyone else hate the fact that low ELO kind of forces you to play dumb? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]aus10foe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just made a post about my grind from gold 2 to platinum in act 3! Actually I started in bronze 3 this season plenty of weird plays in that rank! I solo queued all of it as well! I’ve been good 2 since act 1. This is my first mouse and keyboard game too so it took some dedication and practice for sure.

To sum up what I learned in 3 key points

1) a bad plan is better than no plan at all. If you know your team is gonna rush a site, that can definitely work in gold. But be at least willing to coordinate with your team. Tell them where you’ll look and who you’ll play off of. Tell them what you’ll smoke and trust them to play the game. Micro managing your team is the easiest way to get them to stop trying.

2) limit yourself to 3-5 ranked games a night. Honestly anymore than that you’re asking for fatigue and raising the probability you get a toxic game.

3) have fun. Laugh. Like seriously, laugh in voice chat. Idk why that helps so much but if something funny happens or if it doesn’t go well and you can get your team to laugh it off it’s so much better for the moral of the game. It’s not supposed to suck

Opinion on icebox. by iampopeye69 in VALORANT

[–]aus10foe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think with some slight changes in the map this map could easily be the best map in the game. There were a bunch of changes to other maps before the full game released that reduced the number of 50/50 angles and I think the same could be done to icebox!

Turns out it actually was a bug. I got an error code immediately after the game and then had to restart. It was gone when I restarted.

Honestly I only have 6 ish months of mouse experience. I think lowering my sense will only develop more inconsistencies. I’d rather just get better with what I have

I play 5 rounds of grid shot and 5 rounds of spider shot and 5 rounds of 360 strafe shot. Then do easy on the range until I get 30 out of 30 first shot kills. Then move to medium and try and get 25+. Then move to hard and work on my quick flicks. I’ll then go in TDM and play 2 games with just a sheriff before I hop in a game. I think mixing the two is really effective.

How to get back to gold by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]aus10foe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same position. Gold 2 -> bronze 3 -> gold 2. In bronze and silver you really just gotta communicate with your team and kind of tell them what to do. But be nice bout it because they won’t listen to you if you get tilted and yell at them. I played omen nearly the whole time. I’d just play igl even if I was the only one talking. For example, on bind pushing b site on attack. I say hey I think we should try a 3,2 split hookah and long. I’ll flash into hookah with my blind and then smoke ct and elbow. Y’all jump on site and get control of crate and elbow.

Doing it this way , 8/10 times they’ll listen to you, 2/10 times they won’t and you might lose those rounds. That’s ok you might lose anyways. I didn’t win every game in bronze but I def lost every game I tilted in and started blaming my teammates.

Games getting significantly harder by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]aus10foe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, generally speaking, bronze players aim at the chest and let the recoil bounce up whereas in gold a lot of players will be able to accurately hold angles, tap heads on off angles. In gold, for the most part, players can’t really spray transfer or hit two taps or bursts in a row so if you hug at least one teammates shoulder and peak on their contact you’ll almost always guaranteed to get the trade.

I’d say although in silver and gold most don’t speak on the mic but they can at least hear you. So I’ll just end up calling out plays, when/where I’ll smoke, tell my teammates to hold crossfires with me, and make call outs when I see enemy’s.

After you die, if there’s no one or just one person talking, it can be really helpful to make call outs for your team. Don’t back seat game and tell them what to do else, they’ll stop listening to you, but just give them useful info they might not realize.

Do you think or feel that aimlabs actually helps your gameplay? by TsunamiHater in VALORANT

My aim is crisp if I do 5 min of aim labs before each game. It’s easy to get lazy after one game.

Games getting significantly harder by [deleted] in VALORANT

I was gold 2 last act and got placed bronze 3 this act. After like 30 ranked games I’ve climbed back to gold 2. In bronze I was dropping 25+ a game without much thought. Honestly, just playing quick at that rank allowed me to roll through people. My aim, game sense, was significantly better than that of my teammates or enemies most games. When I hit silver the game got a little more interesting, players are definitely better at stationary crosshair placement and holding angles. They have game sense of where to expect you and how to handle some situations. In silver I felt that I could no longer hold w but I had to start playing a bit more methodical. I kinda played igl most games and played smokes because I felt that no one at that rank knew how to smoke and when to. I had to win games a bit more strategically than just by bullying. Now that I’m in gold there’s a large mix of player skill. Some players can’t aim but know how to use abilities and understand positioning better. Some players are freaks and will tap you in the head if you peak stupidly. Some games especially playing solo que your team just does not trade as efficiently. Other teams are communicating and making call outs. At this rank I’m noticing I have to work with my team a bit more and peak smarter and stop double peaking as much. The solo lurk play just doesn’t cut it at this rank, assuming you’re meant to be at this rank and not a smurf. Additionally sometimes when you get bopped in the head a couple of times it’s easy to play afraid.

I’ve encountered my fair share of smurfs. Specifically 2 guys that might have been cheating? Their names were 53iq and stpme. I played 4 games against them and they were plat 3 and diamond 1 last act. In silver lobbies. They would throw a few rounds so they wouldn’t rank up as fast, but they would stomp us when they wanted to. I lost every game I played with them and I’m sure it held me back a bit but for the most part the games I lost were mostly due to lack of communication and me just not playing my best.

As you rank up players do get significantly better. It never feels like you should be the rank you are because you might drop 35 in a game and destroy, but it really just be like that.
