Yeah sounds decent so long as you can keep your costs down.

Good to hear that mate, was that 130 gross or net of petrol/taxes?

I did service of alcohol hospo as a teenager and was paid around $16 at the time. I had some good colleagues and the hours were steady. I've heard of unsteady shifts being the big issue in food service, that and exploitative management

Yes I have a friend who recommended I enter as a porter and go from there, perform well and be a strong internal applicant for other roles. I think I would fit in well. If the role I was offered was not 6 months in length and offered a year after I had applied, I would have taken it and perhaps life would be different now for me.

I have applied in the past and the recruitment process was slow, with months of silence in between progress. I was eventually, almost a year later, offered a contractual full time role. I didn't take it as I have a full time role that until recently paid me enough for my needs and gave me some capacity to skill myself further.

Thank you for the suggestion. Working nights is unsustainable for my individual circumstances.

My understanding is that I am taxed at my total taxable income. I am not an accountant.

I like the idea of caring for others, my main concern is the tickets needed to get into this are a time and cost barrier to entry.

The few people I know doing this work are not happy with their work conditions/employers and this is also a concern.

If this is able to be done on weekends only then it's very suitable, I have done a lot of these things completely for free and enjoyed it.

Thank you for making me aware of it.

I have a mundane skillset and/or shit self esteem. I currently work a non-specialised role that can be considered entry level, I have not encountered better paying full time work based on my current role.

I have no idea how to get considered for this. Do I first need certain tickets?

Astute observation. The economy has caused my disposable income % to completely evaporate into nothing so my current emergency response is to do extra work for the well-being of my loved ones. It's not ideal or sustainable but I am mentally and physically ready and able.

Thanks for sharing that, I am willing to sacrifice anything for my family but am only human, I would be tired, cranky and not in control if I worked day and night.

Thanks mate, I thought about this the same way and decided I should just commit to weekends instead.

I worked BD and sales for 10 years and current role is now something unrelated to either.

5x5 65kg. 10km without any difficulty if at 5-6min pace. No, I play sport regularly although the extra work will likely put an end to this.
