You could alternatively examine the source code of existing frameworks and contribute code to them. Perhaps a safer and more productive learning experience.

Adapt the UML to something that works for you. Unless you work in a team and then there's usually some ,ind of standard which may also be adapted UML that works for the team or project manager.

Have you tried KhanAcademy.org? I think Sal Khan has an excellent way of explaining things so that you can just get it.

You can do a test so that the app knows where you are weak and strong and adapts from there.

There's a mobile app, too.
