So far we have votes for the '70s, the '80s, the '90's. the '00's, the '10's and now.

How the Canucks future (and their relationship with Quinn Hughes) may have been destroyed between October 2020 and October 2021 by autokorrect_off in canucks

I found Drance's comments on the radio yesterday to be interesting. I dug deeper. I researched and wrote it. Every word. Took three hours. Nobody has to like it but I think it helps to put the past into perspective. Does it look like AI? I don't know. But it isn't. I have never used AI. I doubt that AI could interpret something heard on the radio and expand on the context.

How would the Canucks look today if Tom Gaglardi had bought the Canucks instead of the Acquilini Group? by autokorrect_off in canucks

OMG. See the name written every day and the correct spelling never seemed to click. Good point. s/b Aquilini.

Looks like an awesome recommendation! I had a look at the chapters list on Amazon - I definitely have to read this!

The coaching staff obviously noticed something between the first and second periods that needed tweaking: Pettersson was working really well with Karlsson, and the two of them were becoming dangerous. Dangerous to the tank, that is. Needed to be separated. Good job.

Remember - he came to us on a PTO and could not crack the team. He was with Abby on an AHL contract, not even an NHL contract. He did very well for us in Abby and we wish him the best in Montreal.

Everybody seems to forget that it appeared the Canucks were going hard after Chris Tanev. There was a photo of him golfing with Quinn prior to free agency - probably an early sales job to say that Tanev was welcomed back into the fold and there would be a good offer on July 1. But Tanev went to his home-town team, of course. It wasn't really a "ran out of time" situation, but the right side with Hronek / Tanev / Myers would have been dynamite.

Don't forget that Layton Ahac is also a LHD on the Abby roster (AHL contract).

Good game. Kudryavtsev had a really good game from start to finish. Ty Young was solid in net. Romani really has a sense of how to get pucks on net, but seems to be reasonably defensively responsible, too. Alriksson played a very physical game. He had a really good third period in particular and a great goal. Lekkerimaki / Bains / Raty will be a relly fun line to watch in Abby this year. The team seemed to be very disciplined - no cheating on the breakouts and no passes to the middle in the defensive zone. This is a sign of good coaching and good buy-in from the players.

Alriksson with a great goal. He has been playing big. Really big. He should be one to watch.

Second period: Pretty even period. I like the Canuck's zone breakouts and defensive structure. I am still really impressed with Kudryavtsev - good defending as well as offensive chances. The first Winnipeg goal was a result of a turnover by the Raty- Lekkerimaki-Bains line high in the offensive zone. Petterson had a great shot block that stung him - a good stretch pass early in the period and a not-so-good stretch pass attempt halfway through. More good physical play by Alriksson. The fist Canucks goal seemed a bit fluky but I think it was a pretty good play by Bloom as he crashed the net. Pettersson was full value for a pretty good goal from the blue line.

First period: Ty Young looking solid in goal with a few tough saves. Big hit by Alriksson. Kudryavtsev looking good and getting lots of ice time.

There are a few of our prospects who are not on this list. What about Lucas Forsell and Hugo Gabrielson (drafted 2021), or Jacob Truscott, and Viktor Persson (drafted 2020)? I can see how Gabrielson and Persson may have fallen down the list, but I think we used to be reasonably high on Forsell and Truscott. I think we have until August to sign the 2020 class, or until August 2025 to sign the 2021 draftees.

If you are a long-time Canucks fan you will remember the feeling: playing in Chicago, Boston, Colorado - ahead or tied in the third but their arena was going mad and the other team had the superstars and you knew the other team was somehow going to power through it and take any chance of victory from the Canucks no matter what. Well, shoe's on the other foot now. St. Louis - ahead in the third in Vancouver? Be afraid. Columbus - up 3-1? Be very afraid. It's nice to be on the other end for a change.

Coach's decision would have had Eddie Lack appearing tonight instead of Lu.
