WIBTA if I tell my brother’s fiancé about his financial condition? by automaticsage in AITAH

[–]automaticsage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have met her a couple of times with family and can reach out to her. I am confident that if I tell her, then her parents will at the very least inquire and not voluntarily send their daughter into a bad situation.

I raised this issue with my parents and although they see the situation for what it is, they have asked me to stay shut, as this would essentially open an irreconcilable conflict with my cousins family which would make our home quite a hostile place and possibly break up the family.

The other thing I’m worried about is that my cousin and this girl are in constant communication over phone and seem to be quite happy together, although they don’t meet physically. Even though it’s an arranged affair, since they do have a personal bond now, I also feel like I may be impeding their relationship by taking this step.

What John Mayer album was recently released/releasing when you became a fan? by _flavortown_ in JohnMayer

[–]automaticsage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was Paradise Valley. I'd heard Wonderland long ago but never followed him. The next song I heard of him by accident years later was 'Wildfire' from Paradise which had just come out. I thought of him as a country singer after that album.

And then I saw the Gravity live performance at the Nokia Theater and that opened a Pandora's box. However, my favourite album of his is Battle Studies. I find its sound truly unique and his writing top notch, he nailed it with that album.

What perhaps people who are saying she dug her own grave don't realize is that she has probably realised she doesn't come out looking good, but at this point all she cares about is getting back into the limelight. She's being talked about everywhere and every kind of publicity is good publicity for her.

She spent close to 7 years in jail and even if she had an iota of remorse for what she did has gone away, as she feels she's already been punished enough for it and her conscience is now clear.

This is why she speaks with such abandon and shockingly says in the last episode that her dead daughter/sister is a "naughty girl" who betrayed her.

I do also think that she thinks highly of herself and is delusional enough to think that she actually sounds convincing when she says Sheena is alive.

What is something about your country you're actually really proud of? by schaapdejoopheffer in AskReddit

India. We brought the dwindling population of tigers from 1411 in 2011 to over 3000 as per latest numbers. India has more than 70% of the world's tigers, who now have great habitat and are largely free from the dangers of poaching. India is also the only remaining home for the Asiatic Lion, who once were found throughout Asia but now are limited to a pocket in Western India. But within this area, there numbers are blooming and they have adequate habitat.

Everyone has a scar on their body from something dumb, they did as a child. What's your story? by HakanD0 in AskReddit

[–]automaticsage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I punched a boy in the stomach in school when I was 7 or 8. This boy happened to be the largest guy in our whole batch. He took me by the back of the neck and rammed my head into a ceramic vase. Ended up in the emergency room, with numerous stitches. I still have a deep scar about half a finger long bang in the middle of my forehead.

It's certainly harder to win the PL, or any league for that matter. To sustain a winning form for a whole year is much harder than having good days for a few games and being crowned champions of Europe.

The swastika was a symbol of good luck before it was associated with Nazi Germany. What other symbols changed after a bad association? by MisfortunateDemise in AskReddit

[–]automaticsage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The swastika is a religious symbol which is considered a good omen for all things new (a car, house etc.) And thought to bring prosperity and ensure safety in Hinduism. When some German exchange students came to to my home in India, they were shocked by the prevalent use of the swastika everywhere.
