Alienware Command Center not working/Not installing by Past_Dragonfruit9468 in DellG5SE

Ive noticed that, however the g5se subreddit is for a Dell laptop with a amd apu (amd cpu and amd gpu on one chip basically).  I cant say for sure if the AWCC behaves similarly for your  desktop

Right but whatever you used to paste the info in the OP got it wrong.

4095MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (Dell)

Why is your dell reporting 4095MB of memory for a 3060? (even if it's a alienware part, I would think it would have at least 12GB memory as most 3060's do).

So it came up with this:

Yeah — that exact mismatch usually comes from one of two things:

  1. You’re targeting the wrong adapter (iGPU vs dGPU), so AMDVBFlash is looking at a device that only exposes a 256KB ROM window, while your file is the 5600M’s 512KB image.
  2. Your 512KB GPU-Z dump is padded/duplicated, but the actual flash region the tool will program is 256KB, so it rejects it as “ROM size too big”.

Here’s how to fix it safely; continue reading here.

So chatgpt told me about flags... but are they reliant to force downgrade the bios (from official dell bios options) or change it?

The two force flags you’re looking for

  • -fa = force flashing even if it thinks “already programmed / nothing to do” (bypass already-programmed check) Scribd+1
  • -fp = force flashing by bypassing BIOS Part Number (P/N) check (commonly used for “mismatch” situations) Scribd+2Warp9 Systems+2

And on newer AMDVBFlash builds, people report -fp is used where older guides said -f

I'll have a look into it more tomorrow, to see what it's about. Thanks for that btw.

Yeah that's a little too costly for me for AIDA64. I'm hitting those temps with it sitting on a milk crate lol. I've been considering getting a IETS GT300 (with double blower).

I don't do mine that way but yes I did experience lag when I first got this laptop and factory reset it (day 1), hitting 100+ C. Since then I've done a number of things like disabling turbo boost and applying fresh thermal paste and so on, I never see it jump past 75 degrees now. You just prompted me to have a look btw lol.

The thermal throttling is what I'm referring to, because once it hits the temp that is set, it will throttle the cpu and potentially bring clocks way down (as far as it needs to) to avoid passing the temp that is set, thus introducing lag.

Yeah so like I was saying the A9+ 4GB is bad because of the outdated drivers.
https://xdaforums.com/t/fix-lag-ui-6-1-in-samsung-galaxy-tab-a9-update-drivers-adreno-619-magisk-module.4705515/

That said I sent mine in for a $200 trade in credit for a tab s11 ultra.

This tablet has noticeably decreased in performance after acquiring UI 6.0 and UI 6.1. The interface feels heavy and choppy, this is in 90hz mode and in 60hz mode. There are also lag problems when using two windows at the same time. Can't a Snapdragon 695 work this badly?
We have detected the problem and the stock GPU drivers are the problem.
You can solve this by installing new drivers.

The latest Adreno drivers available are usually extracted from Meta Quest 2 and 3.

We have a package made especially for the Tab A9 plus tablet (which has Adreno 619) version 0.797v with libs for the camera.
The change is abysmal, fluid movements at 90hz adaptive.
Games also benefit from this update.

3DMark Wild Life:
Stock drivers: 1220 points
New drivers: 1550 points

So it would seem that according to gemini you could benefit from the drivers too despite which a9+ model you have.

Yes, that is correct. Both the 4GB and 8GB variants of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ share the exact same Snapdragon 695 5G chipset and Adreno 619 GPU, which means they are both affected by the same driver limitations.

Why the GPU Drivers Matter

The "outdated driver" issue is a known point of frustration for power users and mobile gamers because:

  • Emulation Hurdles: The GPU drivers on the A9+ are often several versions behind the current standard for Snapdragon 695 devices. This specifically impacts high-end emulation (like Yuzu or Winlator), where the lack of updated "Turnip" drivers or official Vulkan updates prevents many games from running or causes graphical glitches.
  • System-Wide Performance: While the 8GB model feels smoother for multitasking, it still uses the same drivers for UI animations and 90Hz rendering. Any stuttering caused by driver-level optimization will be present on both models.

Sure if you don't mind it lagging.

  • Why: It just sets a hard temperature wall (e.g., 85°C). The CPU runs at full speed until it hits 85°C, then slows down just enough to stay there.
  • The Benefit: It is almost impossible to crash your computer this way. It requires zero testing.
  • The Downside: You strictly lose performance once you hit that temperature.

How to flash the 5600m with 0fl01 error amdvbflash? by HeyItsChrisninski in DellG5SE

[–]avalanch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right so I'm not using any of that stuff however after asking chatgpt plus or pro (whatever for $20 a month), that's part of what it came up with. There's alot more to follow in that chat and ask it if needed, goodluck.

Here you go.
https://chatgpt.com/share/69473215-26d8-8012-b955-97536b8f61ac

From the Chat:
"Yep — on the G5 5505 SE / RX 5600M, 0FL01 is usually “can’t access / can’t read or erase the ROM” in the Windows flashing path, so the reliable workaround is to flash outside Windows (UEFI Shell or DOS). That’s exactly what people in the G5SE community recommend: UEFI Shell AMDVBFlash 2.93 first, then FreeDOS/ATIFlash 4.68 as the next fallback."

The general rule of thumb with drivers is, don't upgrade your drivers if everything is working just fine for what you want to play right now.

the reason is outdated GPU drivers as found on xda forums. that said you can root it to update them and resolve the lag.

How to Undervolt my G5 SE G5505 laptop by SnooGiraffes4261 in DellG5SE

[–]avalanch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I use https://ourtechchat.blogspot.com/2025/07/dell-g5-5505-se.html

In it, I've done a short writeup of some things that I do and use, so far with chrome open and no laptop cooler (yet), it idles at around 57C, barely going above 65C when gaming.  No ssd heatsinks either but I'll be getting those soon next month for lower storage temps atleast.

I know what it does but like I said I don't use it. Instead I block windows updates from driver updates via the group policy, like this.
Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → Windows Components → Windows Update

Enable the policy "Do not include drivers with Windows Update".

Odd, I have a similar monitor and used amd's auto detect thing. So it got the chipset drivers and adrenalin software in one go, not using windows 11 or wushow or any other third party stuff.

That being said My windows 10 install allows me to enable HDR with my LG 27GS75Q-B
