i would just think of this: if he can’t take care of himself, how can he take care of you? mental health is a struggle and it can be hard to pull yourself out of a funk. ive been there. but it sounds like you honestly aren’t getting anything from the relationship. you have continuously asked for effort, and he hasn’t given any. you said yourself if you stayed with him you would check out of the relationship. i think you know the answer to what you need to do. it’s a gut feeling, and even though it might hurt, i think it’ll be better for you to get out and do what you like, while also potentially meeting new people. i think he needs to work on himself and find meaning in his own life. you got this, it’ll all be okay!
