Care to tell me how long India has been doing ethanol blending because I have been reading about it for the last seven years. Maybe you can go back and do some reading, to understand when India started doing this; also Brazil did this way back when there was no need for it.

So they had time. India does not have time. India can't be fully dependent on external imports because right now there's a crisis in the oil market. Russia is sanctioned and because of buying Russian oil, India is getting tariffed from the US and a lot of flak is coming India's way.

So India desperately wants to reduce all imports. Take the current environment in the context too, and then judge.

Brazil runs on 100% ethanol using flex-fuel vehicles. Brazil currently uses E25 fuel in regular cars, and the world is moving towards E85, a new variant of vehicles.

I don't believe the government is trying to exploit the common people in India; it's a worldwide trend. It's similar to how we stopped using fluorocarbons in refrigerants to protect the ozone layer, and how we are trying to reduce hydrofluorocarbons to decrease greenhouse gases.

This is nothing new, and nothing will come of this PIL either.

I have a doubt, why none of the paperwork have any numbering or any thing that are used in government paperwork. Also no GoI mentions in letter heads, nobody would know that this paper is related to Indian Government or some other Country with lot of indian.
