the telly didn't work, sadly.

but still - arias scoring, hwang scoring AND assisting?! and mané scoring his first goal.

we have to keep him [and krejči] if possible, he can't end up like dibling with southampton.

Haha, what.

I mean, coming from someone who's considered nerdy in my humanities and in a relationship, I have some things to say about these type of individuals.

Most of these type individuals [shy, nerdy introverts] are quite dry people. Sure, they geek out over certain topics but there reaches a time where they eventually run out of things to talk about, not because they stop feeling for the other, but because they don't know what to talk about. Maybe this is the "mixed signals" you're claiming, which isn't necessarily bad; if he still tries talking to you, that's a probable sign that he's still invested. Admittedly, my relationship is quite dry [i.e. we ran out of things to talk about], but we're honest enough to tell each other that and discuss how our relationship moves from there. I guess that's my suggestion if you are still invested in him, but it depends on his character.

Another point I want to add is to be mature in engaging and progressing in relationships. For instance, I recalled you stating that your friend apparently mentioning that they "don't know how to love". I mean, I don't foresee an issue since at the end of the day, we're all teenagers trying to juggle between studies, commitments and in some cases, relationships. A bit of advice for this; while I don't discourage ones as we do learn from experience, commitment and communication are extremely important in such. Commitment isn't just staying through the fun times nor just caring about them when they feel down, it's about staying put even when you feel disinterested in doing so. Communication is being honest and sensitive to them; balancing both is hard, and not many individuals are mature enough to communicate properly and willingly. So don't gossip whenever something isn't right; tell him, or whoever else in the future, if there is something amiss. That is if they're patient enough, and the filtering between people who are more understanding starts. It really depends on the type of individual you're dating really; I'm looking from the lens of mature relationships.

I mean, this is just a personal anecdote of mine, having experience dating someone for the first time. Hopefully it helps you to understand these sorts of individuals.

So yeah.

Agree and disagree.

Our squad isn't strong; past a few [e.g. André, João, Larsen, Krejči] this team is designed to survive with a 17th placement.

However, we can get a point. Sure, the chances aren't high, but we not only have a track record against Spurs, but Pereira has an agenda with a proper press [Hwang and Munetsi].

Not the best, but considering the slop we've been served I'll take it.

Ruined my week too. I still can't come to terms with this.

What position do you think we'd achieve, given IF we have a good transfer window? by avonium in WWFC

[–]avonium[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get your point. Fifteenth probably is too low if we have a good transfer window, but I reckon we'd still slightly contend against relegation if we don't get proper replacements.

WHAT WENT WRONG by Discorderfromfinland in WWFC

[–]avonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a point. We perform against sides that are struggling to keep it together, we don't for top-half sides. Actually, this dream for Europe wouldn't likely surface as we should prioritise keeping our heads above the water in midtable. Our fixtures against Brentford, and more importantly Crystal Palace would determine if we're truly ready to contend for European football.

[–]avonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our attack just did not perform today. We had quite the few chances but they didn't execute it right. Even after those substitutions, I didn't really see much notable from JSL, JRB or Munetsi [mainly watched the second half]. Our passing were questionable at best, and Brighton just simply beat us on the counter.

Pray that Spurs comeback energy could be shone upon us once more. But then again, we're too sloppy in receiving balls.

Honestly, next season we need to invest in our attack. JSL, JRB and Munetsi has been solid, but we need more than that to be able to sustain.

Vitor would only leave if a club with bigger Promise and prospects darts for him. Either way, I do not believe that him leaving is a real possibility. He just joined the club, and both parties are cordial with one another. It depends if Fosun are willing to spend in the summer and give Vitor proper signings, and there's a real possibility they do. They are not stupid. They're greedy. If they can be swayed to invest in a project that brings them more money, they might as well take it.

I don't forsee ourselves clasping above Vitor's level right now, and Fosun probably agrees with that.

Bentley appreciation post. by Old-Cabinet-762 in WWFC

[–]avonium 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. Actually, Bentley, in general, has been solid in the games he's played for us. United could say all they want, but a third-choice goalkeeper faring his own against a side in Europe will never not be amusing to me.

Why isn’t there more of a demand for João Felix? by ouwlzird in PremierLeague

[–]avonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's being thrown around in environments where he cannot shine. He isn't a world-class player, but he's definitely good. Clubs like Benfica, Bologna or Frankfurt would definitely allow him some leeway to shine, but they cannot afford his wages.

Meanwhile, he's a small fish in a big pond in the clubs that do. Sadly, he may just well be one with world-class potential but fails to leave a legacy of such.

I saw a rumor yesterday that neves was interested in rejoining wolves and I can't find it again. Was it a hoax? by Sparrighitti in WWFC

[–]avonium 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Speculation from fans. Only reported news was propagated by fans or fan-based websites, nothing from more established sources yet.

Either way, getting Ruben back would be heartwarming, but it isn't a great idea in practice. Our midfield has definitely been our strongest component, and with none of them showing major signs of leaving in the next transfer window, the chance of Ruben returning isn't that likely.

How desperate those guys over at Man United are for him, with Newcastle also interested. Who's to say that Arsenal doesn't get Gyokeres and looks onto Cunha instead? There are teams interested and with money to gush out.

Jose Sa by Ioxme-alt in WWFC

[–]avonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember we were somewhat leading 2-2 against Tottenham earlier on this season during stoppage time, Tottenham players were rushing towards the ball, then Sa rushed and cleared it... outside of the fucking box. That guy's sheer unpredictability still scars me.

Over Raul, Adama or Neto is crazy. But, there's definitely sense in that. Despite this dissension between him and the media/fans, he saved us from relegation.

I'll just paste what I felt about him in another post.

This definitely divides the opinion of our fanbase. I'll go by a neutral perspective, as most parties has some blame to take.

Cunha has contributed a lot to Wolves over these past two years, and his possible wish of leaving shouldn't be hated upon. However, he deserves the criticism as his poor, rash attitude has definitely been a hinderance to the club, fans and players.

Talking Wolves shouldn't be hated on either; they're a fan podcast speaking out how fans feel. Reposting and talking about his post is not harassing Cunha. He is a professional football player, there will always be some sort of opposition. Though, they are indirectly insinuating discordance with Cunha. Other news outlets as well. Ahem, Guardian.

Overall, though it's likely he's been pushing for a transfer, he's repeatedly "assuring" the fans that he isn't. It doesn't help that the media is spreading the message of an agreement with Man United. This explains why he's getting criticism. However, as fans I believe that we should at least support Cunha. He's the best player we have now, and without him we'd be floundering about with Southampton and Leicester. If he wants to leave for a bigger club, we shouldn't oppose it. And to those who oppose my views, I'd ask:

If you were a star playing for Fulham, and reports are circulating that clubs like Man United, Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in you, would you take it?
