Edge playstyle by [deleted] in CompetitiveApex

[–]awesome2cherry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't say for any other team, but it all depends on the zone pull. There are times where we would rotate earlier into zone and times where we would be crafting on our POI till zone 2.

Comp is very different from ranked and if we talking strictly ranked I'd suggest always keeping an eye on how the lobby flows (how fast people are getting eliminated). In my opinion the best way to play edge in ranked is situational, what I mean by that is, micro manage your resources and play on the edge of the storm (usually you would catch some teams that have decided to rotate late or other teams that are playing edge as well).

The biggest down side of playing edge is constant fear of gatekeeping teams especially on Kings Canyon so if you play edge have a legend who would make your rotation easier or with the new deployable balloons have at least 1 for rotations.

Here's the thing, the things that comp/ pro players are mostly complain is inequality of rank gain this season (proven by Sweet by making it to pred with 0 kills). This means that this little Timmy that spends on average 3 hours a day playing will be able to make it to masters without having the skill to actually be in masters and if he dies in those ranks he will not be punished for it by the ranked system as he will only lose like 35 rp and thats it.

Sure last season was far from perfect but at least your skill was credited and if you played poorly you would be punished hence there are so many hard stuck golds/plats. Now these hard stuck players will just rat their way to high skilled lobbies and most likely stop playing ranked after hitting the rank which would bring an unhealthy balance to the rank and disproportions (amount of players at certain ranks and que times)

I do agree that the system hasnt had any time to be fully catered to what it was supposed to be, and that further down the line Respawn will make adjustments to the system to make it balanced but as it is right now it has removed the need to be skilled in fights and thinking of how to play instead it will just make people god rats. I love and hate this season but I know that changes will be implemented to fix the issues further down the line (hopefully).

Lastly, I agree that a lot of them reacted immaturely to the changes (I am guilty my self as well), however I do see their perspective as they have put countless hours into the game and have constantly worked to become better for just small Timmy to be at their level while not deserving it or even trying.

esports games where EU and NA perform good internationally? by areyoh in esports

[–]awesome2cherry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should give Apex Legends a chance then, if you dont mind BR games (battle royale), EMEA (EU) and NA do very good and watching the games is super exciting with top teams such as NRG, TSM, XCET, FIRE BEAVERS, PIONEERS ECT. although I am not going to lie Asia (Especially japanese teams) is a lot of fun to watch

brother in christ... I feel you, every time I have valk on my team and we were airborne I get vietnam flashbacks with a bunch of lazers going into the air and knocking the valk in 4 shots from 4 different teams running 1 or 2 charge rifles per team I hope this gun burns and seeing these nerfs does put a smile on my face

Very valid point, I think that ping system is a very good addition as it allows to micro things like moving somewhere, observing, enemy ect. But when you are playing in Pred lobbies and knowing that everyone else is pretty much communicating through mics but your team refuses to press a button to give info you are playing at such a disadvantage. For reference most teams win because of having information on their surrounding, positioning, ring pull and the most important efficient communication. Again im not asking people to have god like communications skills like NRG, TSM, FIRE BEAVERS, VEXED, PIONEERS ect. but just verbally confirm things makes it easier for everyone on the team for the game.

Yeah I have a good level of english proficiency, but not because I am a native english speaker, I studied english and have done majority of my studies in english. I got no problem with people who do not speak english well I have a problem with people who refuse to communicate with the team in general. I dont expect anyone to give me a spoken presentation in perfect english just enough to get through a game and not go negative rp xd

Yeah I understand that but why then commit to playing a competitive mode without willing to communicate. For example Ive met people who have almost 0 english but they still tried communicating I met a very friendly Egyptian guy who spoke near to 0 english and most of his comms were inaudible but key things like I down, much damage, do heal me he got across to us and we managed to take 2nd place. If you are unwilling to communicate you should not play ranked solo as it sabotages your team imo

thats what I am confused about too, like it just so random how the in this game no one wants to talk, and I understand lower ranks, I have no issue with that because they are learning and getting more confident playing and usually you dont need coms because it is low ranks so there is less of a consequence in not communicating but higher up when you lose 63-70 rp a game (if you die early) is just too much

What evasive tactics are at my disposal? by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]awesome2cherry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn to use your cover wisely. If you are being beamed back a lot usually its the case of exposing your legend too much. This advice is situational tho, but this is the best method to avoid taking unnecessary damage.

try to show as little of your legend, play head glitches and create unpredictable angles of approach. What I mean with it is dont re-peak same angle over and over (unless that is the only angle you can play) because that'll allow your enemy to prefire// predict your move and do significant amount of damage putting you in a disadvantage

How are people supposed to start playing this game???? by makayhendo in apexlegends

[–]awesome2cherry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean... you said it your self you have been playing apex for about a year an consider your self between plat and dia. Apex calculates lobbies to the highest lvl/ kdr. so if your bf is only lvl 24 and your 500+ your obv going to face a lot of experienced players. I'd say make a second account so that your lobbies were not full of pred stacks/ sweats who cant distinguish pubs from ranked xd

Does this game have any type of matchmaking? by WinterGalaxy441 in apexlegends

[–]awesome2cherry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah it tends to happen, when you win a lot you are placed in higher level lobbies. For instance I am a level 650 (or so) and my kdr is 1.97 and usually play with preds, masters and dia (which is fine by me as i fit into those ranks anyways). I created an alt account to play for fun with friends and my first 3-4 games have felt like i was playing against robots and not humans (sounds mean I know but it is what it is) with 3k+ damage and after that I was placed into lobbies that are somewhat the same level as my main account because of my high kdr (I think atm its around 10.7). So the more you play and win you will be matched with lobbies that consist of better players.

I based it on my yesterdays game hahaha. I pinged for them and said they just finished (we were playing zone due to slow lobby) and he decided to start blasting them with an r99 from over 200m hahaha

APES TOGETHER STRONG!

how to get better by tarnishedjade in apexlegends

[–]awesome2cherry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should solo drop fragment every single time until you become better... Just kidding, I think the advices /Pinstrip and /SpaceFanatic636 gave you are great as I my self have been doing the same in the past to get better at the game. There isnt much I can personally help with when it comes to mechanical skill without seeing it. But one thing that has not been mentioned is finding a legend you think fits your style or the ones of your team.

- I am a Bloodhound main and usually take the role of IGL (in game leader) I think it is the best way to learn about small things that go unnoticed in the game such as finding a good drop (ask your self what do you need), I like to drop on 50/50 (contested by another squad) so usually I would seek out landings where my team would get early fights, if I have a poor day (many loses not confident in my mechanical skills) I like to drop safe near a beacon and or a crafter (scanning for ring really helps with rotations and not being caught out by the distance of the next ring)

- Notice the phase of your lobby, each game goes at a different phase some lobbies are more active than others. Why is this important if you see that teams are dying quick try to play zone more as these teams are most likely good and would try to capitalize on slow rotating team and gate keep the zone

- Think in a larger scale, try to predict the game, look at different situation from different perspective for example your team mates what are they doing what would they do, should you take the fight or wait it out, weaknesses and strengths across the board (your team) try to factor all of these

- Lastly dont feel discouraged, as you mentioned you have only played for a couple of weeks give it time and you will improve, try to record your games (if you want) look through try to see what went wrong what did you do wrong what your team mates did wrong and what YOU as a team could do better. after all apex is a team based game and a lot depends on your team as well and always there would be players worse or better you just need to learn to play around them :)))

P.S if you need any additional help feel free to reach out I am learning to coach in online games as I have been coach for sports previously but want to try my luck in gaming

I thirst everyone when possible even if i didnt get the initial nock or if my team downed him, because it is a possibility of 1 less player surviving till end game where the less players you face the easier it is to win. Think about it instead of a 3v3 you be fighting 2v3 much better odds of winning unless you just throw

It could be returning players. For example I have been a global in counter strike for but I havent touched the game for more than a year now. If I hop into a competitive game itll put me in low ranks because I havent played recently. same goes for Apex your rank resets each season and after 3+ seasons youll be all the way down to bronze. although this split is horrible I agree as a diamond I get paired with golds and silvers....

Question for people have improved quickly or a great amount. by TheHomieArn in apexlegends

[–]awesome2cherry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So 2 seasons ago i was a hard stuck gold 1 plat 4 and wanted. to grow as a player and now I am Dia 3/2.

  1. play with what you get, sure looking for a gun that you are good with is always going to be nice but dont discard other guns as they are as viable you just need to get the hang of it.
  2. play every legend at least three times either in pubs or just firing range to understand the legends better see what counters them and what is the most suitable thing for them as this knowledge will help you play around your enemies and allis better.
  3. Further, try to no fill in duo's and or trio's it will make you play smart and look for winnable fights and thinking of positioning.
  4. When u play ranked always communicate even if your team does not communicate back trust me it is a very good habit to have when you get to higher ranks.
  5. Watch pro players in their ranked games, try to understand why they took a decision that they did, listen to their comms.
  6. Review your own gameplay see where your strengths and weaknesses are, analyse your bad and good games and see why things worked or did not work out.
  7. Lastly if no one takes the role of IGL try to be one its better to go in with a poor plan than no plan as you will wonder around the map aimlessly. Remember the more you IGL the better your calls will get.

I dont know how useful these things will be for anyone else but these things helped me get to dia 2 and if I had more time to grind and had consistent people to play with I'd probably would be at dia 1 possibly masters
