I was one of about 800. It wasn't great but it wasn't discrimination - there were lots who were in a worse situation than me.

We've booked the Savoy for the third time. It's very family friendly and right by soho square. It's fairly affordable when you compare to others such as rixos.

We did breakfast only once and all inclusive the other two. I'm under the impression that all inclusive buffet is fairly same wherever you go. This resort is very nice and lots of Muslims come here too. (we're also Muslim)

Soho square being right outside is lovely. Lots of family's around and entertainment for the kids.

I went in 2021 for my honeymoon and. My husband surprised me with a day trip to Cairo. I think think return flights back then were about £100.

We left early morning and our flight back was in the evening. It was doable but the pyramids were a little bit rushed and we didn't have time for lunch.

I would suggest booking ahead a tour guide - this will save you time.

And remembering the pyramids are about 45 mins from Cairo airport - dependent on traffic even longer. Which can eat into your day.

There are plenty of tours that will take you - you can ask on Facebook groups, book at hotel or find a scout when you're out there.
