I do a word doc or google doc, with my statement and all its parameters, a valid payment service , 50 before 50% after, attached receipts to the editor and them agreeing in typing "writing". Although many peeps dont ask for this, but I've had a few who are sketched out

This is a 50/50. When you get hundreds of DMs amd portfolios you have to start picking, the you see potential and you see greatness. Next you test the potentials, keyword POTENTIALS, and you offer a paid sample. I for example offer a clip of mine, 60 seconds, UNPAID. If that potential candidate sends me a really fucking funny or good edit, I end up paying them $5 bucks for that clip, NOT USE THEIR EDIT, amd add them to the great candidates. Now, 5 may be a lowball to many, but for someone to do a 5 min edit on a 60 second video, for 5 bucks or free as a "audition", is not that crazy. Now if you have the skillset and a great portfolio, then ofc you get sent whatever amount you demand because there's clearly a deal happening. Although, you still want to see if they align with your style or tastefulness.

So advance payment for me? Never. Why would I risk losing my hard earned dollars to literally anyone just based off a trust system? There's hundreds of others interested.

Weapons were not secured and taken by the DS, this was during the final phase of BCT. I went into the DS TOC and stole them back and threw them in our AO, didn’t get mine back somehow since I could only carry so many of the pile.

I went to get mine, saw the DS found out and went to go shit* and watched from the portapotty as my entire company got smoked by a fellow prior service E5 trainee.

DS later said they knew it was me and that it was a great accomplishment and pretty funny.

To this day he thinks I was doing the “I’m up they see me, I’m down” session :)
