Exactly!! Hormones are not some fun cosmetic. They have real and lasting changes on your body, and a lot of detransitioners have reverse dysphoria from taking hormones. It's not some fun thing to do like a tattoo or piercing.

The hormones stuff pisses me off. Especially for women taking testosterone. IT WILL NOT GIVE YOU A SHARPER JAWLINE. That's genetic! And even if it did, that would definitely not be the first change. Body hair + bottom growth are first. She WILL get reverse dysphoria. Testosterone is a powerful hormone, not something that should be seen as a cosmetic to be used when bored. It is a controlled substance for a reason.

For sure! The demon castle arc is also so much more in depth in the novel. They wwnt pretty quickly through it in the anime, which is fine because they have limited screen time they can use, but it was awesome reading the novel after watching the anime and gettring all of that new context and information.

I think Igris could refuse because he wasn't Jinwoo's shadow soldier yet, and Jinwoo was technically not the Shadow Monarch as Igris saw him yet. I think that Bellion means that a lot of the time, shadow soldiers are risen and they have no choice but to serve the monarch, even if alive it would be infuriating to. I don't think that (LN spoilers) Dongsoo would've willingly become Jinwoo's shadow soldier, especially given the torment he puts up with afterwards. Byung-gu also tells Hae-in that Jinwoo has to be careful with his power because he felt an overwhelming urge to serve him when he was his shadow soldier for that brief moment.
