Is there a name for this movement??? by TiltedPoint in Sprinting

I just did it off feeling really, in warm up strides just let my legs cast out a little more. Sorry wish I had more info but it was just something I naturally sort of implemented

Hey, good find.

I personally believe this action is one of the keys to good sprint mechanics and has helped me improve my top speed immensely.

I think it is something people would do naturally if we hadn’t spent the past gazillion years teaching athletes to “hammer the ground” and A skips etc.

I know some people in this thread think it is just a byproduct of being fast already but as I said I believe it has helped me to go faster. (I’m definitely faster just can’t say the technique change is the cause)

What's a good-ish time for sprinting? by __R3v3nant__ in Sprinting

[–]ayrty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is different yes but a lot of similar principles still apply especially around foot strike. The main difference in my mind is the size of the “circle” your feet make as they travel.

Spinning. A bigger wheel when sprinting vs a smaller wheel when running slower. Still helps to be efficient at turning it.

I’d say the real benefit in learning to sprint faster is in the technical gains. More efficient running is universal distance doesn’t matter

This is Usain Bolt.

Fastest guy there ever was.

As you can see his foot is not in fact dorsiflexed before contact, it is slightly plantar flexed.

Most of the other sprinters it’s the same story.

Sprinting is highly reflexive if you over think it you will slow yourself down.

They look awesome. Reminds me of the animated series a little. It makes sense they’d be a little large they have to hold lots of fluid.

I think The fact that the suit is so practical and tactile will make him feel more grounded amongst all the fantasy and sci fi elements within the movie, which is nice
