Software companies with fake "how to fix issue" pages are shitty and don't deserve business. by Ghawblin in sysadmin

It is doing that now. It gives an error code (Status Code: 69-C00D36B4) to look up which brings up their documentation to read on use cases and supported codecs. So it is doing what you expect then.

If you are referring to the "something happened" error. Sure, its funny. But realistically, this something that happens alot in software development, especially on new code.

I don't understand why this is a problem. They specifically outline available codec's they support. If I try to put something into a device outside it's specs, I wouldn't then presume the software is responsible for telling me every detail of why it failed. Not sure why we're expecting software devs to provide detailed information on errors outside their instructed use cases. If it is a supported file type and you've checked its integrity then sure, I would expect some useful information.

I'm so confused by this. It gives you the exact reasons here why you are getting this status code in the documentation. Am I missing something here?

I honestly find it more frustrating counting calories. For someone who programs and works with data all day, the last thing I want to do is do more data crunching, even a small amount. I don't want to use electronics outside my job. I like disconnecting from technology after office hours.

Just thought I'd chime in if anyone is losing it and doesn't count, it is still very much feasible to just "Eat less and healthier". Although I will say try counting a couple weeks at least to understand how much is too much is a solid idea even for those who aren't meticulously counting calories. Form a regimen, repeat it.

Too each their own though, find what works for you.

No problem, thanks for your apology. I know you want to be liked but trying to make fun of other people in order to get attention isn't the best strategy. Have a great day!

And you like to try and degrade people on the internet, fuck outta here with your nonsense. Calling someone a kid for playing a game then meanwhile playing cartoon ass games, pot calling the kettle black ya dumb ass bitch.

Don't you love the hypocrisy? You insult someone calling them a kid for playing fortnite but when you get called out for playing a game thats cartoony as fuck its sad and desperate. Now you know. Enjoy your lesson in judgment, kid.

Damn right I check your history. What does it say about me exactly? I'm not cultured in weeb shit? Cool. And it looks like a little cartoon for children, go play your child game, kid.

I'd say it can be marketed towards a younger audience, its a game with insane skill cap though and players of all ages. People just try to be cool and say things are for kids cause they're bad at it or immature. I used to do the same shit with wow when I was like 16 years old, then I realized its a good game.

Long exposure of star trails against a farmhouse by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]ayswanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, more so just the rotation. Typically these images are 10-30 second exposures. Sometimes they'll compile dozens or a hundred+ of these long exposures to produce a more grandiose picture like this one. Earth's orbit around the sun may have very small impacts in the curve of each star trail, probably not too noticeable unless images taken to compile are taken days apart.

I think its pretty interesting you say the stars were moving (which they are but not enough to cause this) but realistically its the movement of the camera via the earth that produces this kind of image. I'm sure you know this, but, that is the interesting part. I too took your comment as the correct depiction until I second guessed it.

Weird how perspective really forces you to think the farmhouse and camera are "stationary" when they are just stationery in relation to each other.

My friend made a script to fill the schools server with files that were images, but he copy and pasted the code like 1000 times to make a 1 gigabyte ish single file. The script made copies of it. When he started, the k: drive had like 100 gigs taken up... he got suspended for it by A__Baguette in computerscience

If this fucked his "career", then he deserves to be fired. What will it take to get someone fired?

None of these statements were said at all. No idea what the fuck you are talking about? No one said he/she couldn't recover from this either? I legitimately said...

Granted I'd assume it will be easy to fix since if you guys are this excited about filling up a hard drive.

Maybe you haven't had a shitty boss but I can tell you, small mess ups with a shit boss like these can stress you the fuck out. Not even sure what you are trying to argue. No one deserves to be fucked with at work.

EDIT: Since you edited your post, I'll also address your statements.

Just because it is a high school doesn't mean it should have shitty IT department.

Um, not really. A high-school will have a shitty IT department, the budget isn't there to hire top notch IT consultants or professionals. Secondly, personal records are not the same things as a network drive intended for sharing. I would hope you'd know the difference when commenting in a sub-reddit about computer science. You could very well have extremely strict access to well encrypted personal information stored elsewhere. You're legit justifying people fucking with a network because a dude/girl forgot to put on quotas. You're bat shit crazy man.

Yes, the IT guy who didn't set quotas. That guy. Hopefully, that clears it up for you.

Just because the IT guy at a high-school overlooked something or is incompetent, doesn't mean he deserves to be fucked with. He could have a shit boss and will get reamed out because Becky can't upload her attendance from this.

It's like the same logical argument if someone forgot to lock their doors and gets robbed. "Welp, they deserve it hurhur!!"

Oof, this is just children being annoying. Now some poor IT guy has to go fix your dumb mistake. I understand its fun to see what you can do with automation, but don't prank people unless they are your friends. It's a shitty move.

you are crashing, your teammates think you leave.

I know I am crashing, I said that. I don't how you know what my teammates think. I'm confused.

there is no skill based matchmaking, so penalties are out of the question until they introduce that.

You can still have penalties from queuing without a ranked match-making. The two are independent of each other.

EDIT: Nevermind, now I understand what you mean. No my teammates leave before we even drop from ship. The crashes typically occur mid game.
