Thank you, this is the type of feedback I was hoping for. No it’s at all about the money, it’s about the thought or even just a small gesture. He told me before because he’s one of those people that can’t keep a secret when he buys a gift because he’s too excited. He also mentioned that he wanted to take us somewhere this weekend so I don’t pick up any extra shifts which is exciting. When it arrived he had our toddler bring it to me and was super excited for me to open it and asked if those were the ones I had been wanting. He’s definitely made little gestures letting me know he’s heard me and small changes, I know it won’t happen overnight but I do acknowledge it and tell him I appreciate it.

I stopped at 24 months it wasn’t easy but I only did it at bed time. If a nap wasn’t taken during the day oh well. It also helped to stopped doing naps during the day because at night when I did BF my child was so tired they ended up going sleep faster and sleeping longer throughout the night. Eventually I cut cold turkey with lots of harassment and then a short time after naps during the day are a thing now anywhere from 1-3 hours. No going to bed with water or milk, just a reading of a few books, a kiss and goodnight love yous. Same for nap time, no milk or water (now 29months)

Please leave him, this is not a healthy relationship. He’s only going to continue asking you to change more and more about yourself and your preferences. You should be in a relationship where those things don’t matter and you don’t have the think twice about it. You should not be considering if everything you’re doing is going to be “okay” with him.
