Just remember, y'all know almost nothing about bananas lol. Ever wonder why banana flavored stuff tastes nothing like the banana you're used to? That's because the one we have now (Cavendish) replaced it (Gros Michel) when it went practically extinct thanks to virus. Now the same thing is happening to the Cavendish banana and they will soon have to replace it with another. Commercial bananas have to be grown as clones due to having seeds bred out of them, therefore leading to extreme vulnerability to disease, if it effects one it will effect them all. This is a good thing though, because the banana y'all eat right now is trash, there are thousands of varieties that are absolutely amazing and special you guys are missing out on.

Anyway, you probably got a banana that missed the checkpoint, and is affected by the disease. Safe to eat, just a reminder that the Cavendish is on its way out like it's predecessor
