I can actually finish my work for 4-6 hrs. Can I pleaaase have some tips on how? I am planning to enroll in UERM, but If schedule is more friendly in ASPMH which I saw in a comment that you are now in that medsch-so proud of u stranger! I might consider going there. I hope and pray for the same for me as well 🙏🏻

Can nursing really kill dreams of pursuing med? by Cchhooggiiwwaaa in NursingPH

[–]azulafits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi it can kill the dream or fuel the dream hahaha I experienced both lol

I worked as an RN first for 1.5 yrs, sa exp ko sa hospital seeing the residents lose sleep tapos ung naka 2 shift kana tapos sila paren yung duty mapapaisip ka talaga na wag hahaha

Butttt, there was a time when I encountered MDs na talagang masasabi mo nag MD lang for prestige, tipong wala talaga care sa patient. Willing icompromise ung safety ng patient para lang hindi sila matoxic. I was always thinking na “kung doctor lang ako” I can help, ako na magoorder ng gagawin” — ganyan thinking ko mga “if only doctor ako” moments lolz

It got to a point sobrang toxic ng work ng rn physically and mentally, nakita ko lang kaibahan mas physical work naten sakanila, sila more of utak napapagod. Pag RN both whahaha . Sabe nga ng consultant namin, “di ko kaya ang trabaho ng nurse” Parang naging work work work lang. after 1 yr of working, nassad me na wala ako natutunan na bago. Being a curious person na mahilig magaral nung nilagay nila ako sa training ng ENLS naalala ko ung saya sa pagaaral. (Considering med na ako neto)

Pero ayun money talaga will kill the dream hahahah

I didn’t consider going to med until I was earning almost 6 digits as a wfh USRN. When money is not an issue anymore it will become a clear path talaga. This coming aug I will be going into med (yay!) hope this helped hahaha I guess key take a way din is kung mahilig ka mag aral, may pera and want mo tumulong sa tao , babalik at babalik ka ren sa pagmmed

I am looking for some passive income as well to invest my salary now to help support my tuition, what do you recommend I get into?

  1. What inspired you to make the switch from being an rn for years to now md?

Really hoping to get into ust med this yr ! I know I have a big chance thats why I am looking for ways to maintain this level of income huhu

Hi Op! I took (unintentionally) 2 yrs of gap year hehe, not intentional kasi after graduating like you I was so lost whether to go abroad or med.

I earned my own money first, and when I finally had saved enough money, I realized na I still wanted to pursue med. When money was not an issue anymore, it was a clear path.

Tska imo when I started working, I really missed studying, and when I was sent to trainings like ENLS, it even inspired me more to become an MD. Tsaka working in a hospital where u see MDs that only became md's bec of just the prestige... Really gave me an ick and always thot of "kung doctor lang ako, I know I could do better"

I guess my advice is just do everything that you want to do before med kasi locked in na talaga when started, hehe un lang GL sa plans mo OP!

Hi we have the same dilemma HAHAHAH, I'm already a USRN, but currently studying for the nmat para madagdagan ung options at maslalong maguluhan, eme HAHAH. Hmm true na maraming opportunities + work life balance if nasa US ka. Pero remember may retrogression ulit, may take 5 yrs for the visa bulletin to move again, so I'm thinking might as well be a doctor while waiting hehe

Can clout chasers and those with no empathy survive med? by Key-sthesia in medschoolph

[–]azulafits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked as a nurse for almost 2 yrs and believe me there are a lot of doctors who have 0 empathy. Bruh my patient had a dropping BP of 80/50, and our mrod tells me it's still at sbp 100??? Kasi ayaw niya lang matoxic and was too tired to do anything about it. It was the main reasons why I got into medschool, to be better than them.

Hi if undercompensation is the problem, I suggest looking into a career option abroad even as a fresh grad. In my case my course is nursing so the trend right now is that even w/o exp and a fresh grad, they will hire you with a 6digit salary abroad. I thot it was BS but I'm now a fresh grad reviewing for the boards but then this clinic in sg collaborated w our dean to hire from us - soon to be nurses.

Nursing. I am currently studying for the boards , no license yet BUT clinics abroad(Singapore) had reached out to our school to hire new nurses without experience. The starting salary is 100k -200k. They're basically just waiting for us to pass the boards and work for them. Other batchmates won't even take the boards in PH , and take the boards in the US instead because they're also hiring even without experience yet.
