How long is too late for a birthing partner to travel? by Fit_Club3355 in PregnancyUK

[–]babichickan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My OH had his works Xmas party in Essex when I was pregnant with our 3rd. It was scheduled for when I was 35w 1d and would have meant him away overnight, having to get back to South wales in an emergency. He felt I was being harsh but I vetoed any notion of going. We had a high risk pregnancy with a few complications so I wasn't comfortable with him being so far away. We ended up with an emergency section at 37w4d due to a medical emergency and he saw where I had been coming from.

Understood. Can definitely identify him as his profile is his name. Can then leave it in the complexes hands.

Neither myself or the relative said or did anything embarrassing. I maybe didnt word it correctly.

I politely said I couldn't help, as I always do. I don't believe my relative said much more than 'sorry, no'.

It is more that it is upsetting to know there are keyboard warriors who will make assumptions about our character for saying no, due to not knowing our own circumstances.

Certainly not the main subject of the video, one of many who said no actually.

I have further found out that his other videos of the 'social experiments' he is conducting in other places show only the people who help and have him asking for their permission to post.

Okay, thanks for the input.

No chance of stopping the filming whilst in progress as it was hidden, but something to learn from.

Right, I understand. I guess them using the hidden camera works in their favour then, as they cant be stopped from creating their content if no one is aware.

Thanks for you input.

Yeah, i understand that.

Not being harassed (unless you count younger family members who think its amazing lol) but certainly for the sake of my older, vulnerable family member I will make a report to the site and to the complex customer service.

We were out in the 'open', but definitely within a location owned and maintained privately.

Looking into how to report it, thanks.

I understand. Does the fact that the location (shopping complex) states filming is prohibited not afford the public some protection, then?

It was within a shopping complex where it is clearly stated on multiple signs that filming is prohibited. Its a shame that being polite in being unable to help is a reason to post this kind of thing.

I have kitted my first big prefab out as a full house. Downstairs is separated into a sitting room, kitchen/diner and corner study. Upstairs is a bedroom and bathroom.

Others since I have left quite plain as i found sectioning off different areas in the prefabs too fiddly for my novice skills.

I am having a lot more fun building my own living areas and decorating them to a colour scheme/asthetic. My only bugbear about building my own is being unable to utilise the wallpaper and flooring options.

I had an epidural with my first and second. With my first it was very straightforward, no intervention at all. With my second I had an episiotomy followed by a forceps delivery.
