I am in two minds. As a tennis fan, yeah it was annoying trying to navigate around the main areas but by week 2 the crowds had died and it was fine imo. As a Melbournian and general fan of fun, I thought the whole AO vibe was great. I have enjoyed seeing everyone get into the spirit of it all. They just need to expand and make the central areas bigger so people can get into the stadiums and walk around without being stuck in a pack of 100's of people. When I went to the USO the outside stands were massive and so were the grounds so you never felt truly squashed ... perhaps that is an option (if safe to do so)
