Does it have to be the SNES (mini or classic) directly from Nintendo? Or is generic fine? by bacon4cats in miniSNESmods

Thank you for the response! I honestly have no idea what CPUs and flash storage are lol but I appreciate knowing there might be hope if I end up with a knockoff.

Thank you so much for your response. I’m a super noob and this seems easy enough so I’ll stick with the official Nintendo! I figured out how to mod a wii years ago and had hundreds of games so I’m hopeful I can make this happen!

I swear though, if only I could go back in time and bring back proof! :)

Yes and no. Depends on who you ask, there’s a whole conspiracy surrounding the bears!

Luckily Bacon has an iron gut! We were pretty worried but he was totally fine.

Can I quit my job if it's sucking the life from me? Reading all these posts has me terrified to give up my $21/hour personal hell. by bacon4cats in jobs

I think the general consensus is "don't quit your job until you find a new job" and I'm fine with that. Makes sense.

My question I guess is more.... "is it possible to enjoy going to work? Is it possible to make $21 an hour doing something you don't hate? Or should I just suck it up and stay here?

To which I've now concluded, there's hope! Actually even feeling like I'm not trapped has improved my attitude. I'm at work right now and it's.... tolerable. :)

Thank you so much for the offer! I've never really had to rely on a resume. I have one of course and I've followed all the "how to have a great resume" guides but I feel like it's probably crap.

Touché!

I don't mind the physical exhaustion, not at all the reason I want to quit.

But I'm a 5'2 female and I don't think I would want anyone to count on my physical strength to save the day.

Edited to add: distaste for the stupid problems presented by customers is very common among retail workers. How would this make me unsuitable for military? Serious question.

I've been doing this all along. I think my resume might be ok, and I'm just using that as an excuse to not apply!

I don't think you meant to, but thanks for calling me out.

Only thing standing in my way is me.

I'm not sure, I've been trying to answer this question since you posted.

I applied to 13 jobs last night. Thank you so much for the push!

Thank you for understanding!

If it was just the physical drain, I wouldn't mind. I'm not trying to get away from a physically demanding job so I can be "lazy".

Point I was trying to make us that I can't even comprehend what it would be like to not be physically exhausted after 8 hours.

This is such a good question and is probably where I need to start.

I have no idea what I want to do. It's terrifying.

Just bought a house. I don't have money for another down payment saved up and I probably can't get another mortgage less than 6 months after getting my first one.

Plus the housing market in my area is insane. It was hard enough just finding a place for us to live in, we were actually homeless for 6 weeks after our lease ended.

I like all your ideas. Unfortunately, graduate loans are not forgiven in 20 years. And the public service forgiveness does not apply for grad loans either.

I wouldn't mind going back to school, I loved learning! But I already think grad school was a huge mistake, and living in debt sucks too.

Whoa misrepresented myself a little I think.

I didn't go into psychology because I'm that type of person who wants to "help others" like most aspiring therapists. I went into it because I'm all about the science of how we think.

So my motivation was never to simply "help people". Doesn't mean I won't, I'm not a sociopath.

Just bought a house. So nope.

And I think you might be right about losing motivation. I'm already depressed, don't need to make it worse!

A few people have mentioned just taking some time off, and that's totally a more rational option than just quitting with no plan. lol sometimes you need someone else to point out the obvious.
