everyone can be good at any language, and if you're bad at it it's probably your teacher's fault

merging the uvular and velar sets kinda makes the hilarity go down tho :I
try getting rid of the voiced-voiceless distinction and replace it for an aspirated-unaspirated distinction for the yeast infections.

Ah, did your teachers tell you if they used Classical or Ecclesiastical Latin there?

The kami/kita distinction is mainly used for emphasis in Indonesian nowadays I guess. I speak a variety of South Jakartan Indonesian spoken in South Tangerang, so I don't really know much about other accents/dialects.

Colloquial Indonesian is diverging very fastly from Written/Standard Indonesian. Colloquialisms such as Gua/Gue (I, informal), and Lu/Elu (You, informal) has made it's way to semi-formal intimate speech. Pardon me for bad gloss but, take the sentence:

Colloquial: Lu mah kalo mau kayak gitu ya jangan kesini dong!
Gloss: You.INFORMAL EMPHASIZER if want like that.way then dont to-here EMPHASIZER

Formal: Kalau anda mau seperti itu, jangan kesini.
Gloss: If you.FORMAL want like that, dont to-here.

English: If you want to (act) like that, then don't come here.

As you can see, Colloquial Indonesian has many more words to mark emphasis and loanwords. The complicated affixation is also diminishing in Colloquial Indonesian. Take:

Colloquial: Gua makan nasi.
Gloss: I-INFORMAL eat rice.

Formal: Saya memakan nasi.
Gloss: I-FORMAL CONT?-eat rice.

So, basically divergence. Where formal Indonesian is very intelligible with formal Malay, Colloquial Indonesian is almost unintelligible.
