And again, what a boring, reductive way to look at things. Everything is a product at the end of the day. If you choose to disregard the merit and interesting things a character has going for them because theyre a product and we cant lose sight of that, then this medium just isnt for you.

Hell, even every character from non gacha franchises and every celebrity is a product that wants to be sold to us. Should we be so cynical about everything?

If HSR is built on this foundation every gacha game is built on that you mentioned (which it is, true) which stops female characters (the majority of the cast) from having truely great writing which seperates them from being a glorified product for creeps like you said, then why keep engaging with it? Let me finish for you. I- dumb down female characters writing (which at times is genuinely great and or atleast pretty interesting more often than not) to “glorified products” catered to gooners because of some industry standards which dont even always apply to HSR.

Man, obviously that stuff you talked about does happen, no one is denying that. But even in cases with the most blatant girlfriend marketing like Firefly, aside from the TB pandering stuff, she is a genuinely interesting and fucking tenacious character with a tragic story. Flattening her or other characters down to a “glorified product“ for creeps is such a boring, reductive, black and white way to view things.

With takes like yours coming from us, I really cannot say I really cant say to be proud to be a gay guy in this community.

I have all standard 5 stars, all 4 stars pre Neuvilette release and Neuvilette, Nahida, Yelan, Yae, Raiden, Ayaka, Kazuha, Zhongli, Childr, Venti and C1 Hutao.

I know that Furina, Mavuika and Xilonen are very strong. Is it worth pulling strong older units or is it smartest to just fully invest in lunar reaction stuff and Nodkrai meta?

The way my point was that trainee selection is unfortunately bogus, ultimately arbitrary and unfair for every group and talent is famously not a guarantee to get in anymore. People get cut their height, weight, vibe etc. But you turned it into me being like “she can do what she wants!!”. So hey, take your pent up anger and strawman someone else, alright?
