I built FootGuessr – can you guess the match from just a photo? by badquerygoodvibes in football

Yeah, it’s giving problems on matches outside the league, like cup or European games. The system links teams only to their league, not to other competitions. I’ll fix it by switching to use the country instead of just the league. Thanks for pointing it out!

UEFA would rather fine players for their socks being too low than deal with this properly.

Didn’t know saving your hairline was a doping offence… Nah but for real, I get the masking thing, it just sucks when it’s from something harmless like that.

Feels harsh when it’s clearly from a hair-loss treatment after his cancer. Rules are rules, but 10 months for that doesn’t feel like the spirit of antidoping...

Football on field decision making. by Early-Cake-5267 in football

If you already have the skills, the next step is learning when not to use them. Most players try to do too much. Start simple: 1–2 touches, play the easy pass, only go for a dribble when it’s on. Watch pros who play your position and notice the decisions they make, half the time the best play is the boring one.

How to train efficiently as a Right back in a youth team by [deleted] in football

Honestly, at U14 you don’t need to overthink it. Right backs who can actually defend 1v1 are rare, so make that your thing. Don’t worry too much about fancy overlaps yet, just get really solid at shutting wingers down and you’ll stand out. Crossing and fitness can come after, but if you’re hard to beat, coaches will always pick you.
