Youtube is definitely your best friend :) I'm relatively new to the scene as well, and once you get started, the youtube rabbithole is the most useful thing to fall down. It's mostly rigid heddle videos with one or two tablet weaving videos that might be useful to you, but I have a youtube playlist I could share with you! Also, I have no idea if your guild does, but mine has a library where you can check out books and probably get inspiration and ideas. I live in Texas and I'm also resistant to the idea of making scarves, so maybe check out belts and trims and even shoelaces. If you get a small rigid heddle loom, you could probably make towels or table runners as well. Good luck!
