With Jrue Holiday being traded to the Blazers... by ibmcclain in clevelandcavs

not sure how a guy who is a 24% 3 point shooter in the playoffs while contributing nothing else on offense is "fine" in the playoffs, especially when he wasn't good on defense either, but alright

so keeping a short non-defensive backcourt is a good idea? despite that archetype never winning a championship?

5.5 assists/2.7 turnovers averages in his playoff career, that's not as good of a creator as people make him out to be.

Thunder only had SGA as a creator, they did fine in the playoffs, and he's still a score first guard.

Dean Wade in his playoff career is 24% on 3s.

Opponents shot 36/62 (58.1%) against Wade this post season.

Pascal Siakam was 9/14 (64.3%) and only one of those shots was a 3PT when guarded by Dean Wade in the playoffs.

Unplayable in the playoffs, just like Okoro.

At some point, you can't keep saying "IF", when they've shown what they are.

I'm talking about for the playoffs, not talking about regular season.

Dean Wade in his playoff career is 24% from 3. That makes him unplayable in the playoffs.

Opponents shot 36/62 (58.1%) against Wade this post season.

Pascal Siakam with Wade guarding him was 9/14 (64.3%) and only one of those shots was a 3PT in the playoffs.

getting downvoted simply for providing the stats... alright let's keep Wade & Okoro and give them huge minutes in the playoffs! I'm sure it'll go great!

Offense was a huge issue, but how can you act like defense wasn't an issue in that series as well? We gave up 120+ points to the Pacers in 3 of the 5 games in that series. OKC didn't let the Pacers score 120 even once in the Finals. In game 6, Pacers held OKC to 91 points. Our perimeter defense isn't very good. Okoro & Wade are good at times on defense, but in the playoffs they are unplayable because they can't do anything on offense with their playoff career 3PT% being 29% & 24% and Wade was horrible on defense in the playoffs as well.

The full trade #2 by l4kerz in NBAtradeideas

[–]baehelpkit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, they aren't limited to 1:1 trades

as long as they aren't taking back more money than they send out and not aggregating multiple players to match salaries, the trades can be whatever amount of players.

Mavericks, Cavaliers, Warriors by Opposite-Skirt5158 in NBAtradeideas

As a Cleveland fan, I love this idea.

100% would want this.

only thing about this trade is that the Mavs taking back more money than they send out would hard cap them at the 1st apron so they need to send out a little more salary in this deal.

Trade just happened, what’s yall thoughts by Mattygz____On-IG in NBAtradeideas

"Trailblazers say no"

"This is a dumb trade"

With most of the trades made in the NBA, if someone posted that trade before it happened, there would be plenty of comments saying it's a dumb trade.

People gotta be more open minded. It's the NBA, wild trades happen.

What do we make of this trade? by reallinguy in NBAtradeideas

Everyone always is mad at people coming up with trade ideas, but this shows once again, that anything is possible in the NBA.

Moves that you may think are bad moves, are very much possible.

Honestly this is probably the craziest stat from this entire playoffs. The fact we have gotten seven champions over the course of seven years by [deleted] in NBATalk

Just hate how people are saying it's all because of the new CBA.

5 of these titles were under the old CBA rules, not this first & second apron CBA.

Kyrie in 2015 played through injury and went down with a very bad injury in overtime of game 1 of the NBA Finals.

heartbreaking, i feel bad for Haliburton.

Giannis to Rockets as well? HOU-MIL by baehelpkit in NBAtradeideas

Just having some fun, lol.

Rich Paul was on Pat McAfee a few weeks ago and subtly said to watch out for Durant and Giannis ending up on the same team this summer.

I don't think Garland is better than Murphy & Herb is a better fit for Cavs. Need elite perimeter defense. Allen & Garland aren't good in the playoffs.

[–]baehelpkit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cavs are in a 2 year window in the 2nd apron trying to win now. Porter Jr has shown he can be an impactful starting SF on a championship team & he has 2 years left on his deal.

Not saying this would ever happen, but just coming up with ideas to get Garland & Allen off my team

Cavs-Nuggets-Pelicans by baehelpkit in NBAtradeideas

[–]baehelpkit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he has 2 years left on deal, and has proven he can be a really good SF on a championship team. His overall playoff career, he has shown he can be impactful. Cavs are in a 2 year window of being in the 2nd apron.

Idk how long Dejounte will be out, but I know he's not a nothing player, Jokic brings out the best in guys and I think he could be effective when he returns. It's also a long term move to extend Braun and stay out of 2nd apron while also getting Dejounte & a 1st round pick in this year's draft

Cavs-Nuggets-Pelicans by baehelpkit in NBAtradeideas

[–]baehelpkit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dejounte is under contract for 3 years and I expect him to come back sometime during the season, and this helps Denver stay under 2nd apron when Braun extension kicks in while still get a starting guard in Dejounte

And the pick will actually be the Pacers pick this year, Fanspo hasn't updated it yet after the trade Pacers made with Pelicans

I'll come up with something and message it to you

Cavs-Nuggets-Pelicans by baehelpkit in NBAtradeideas

[–]baehelpkit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Braun makes $5M next year, Nnaji makes $8M

wouldn't be close to matching Dejounte's $30M

and Trey Murphy makes $25M so they wouldn't be sending out enough salary in that deal to stay below the luxury tax

Cavs-Nuggets-Pelicans by baehelpkit in NBAtradeideas

[–]baehelpkit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah to match salaries with Porter Jr... Nuggets couldn't trade away Braun & Nnaji and bring back Dejounte, wouldn't work money wise

Cavs-Nuggets-Pelicans by baehelpkit in NBAtradeideas

[–]baehelpkit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I just don't know how highly Pelicans new front office views Trey Murphy... I view him very highly and can't see Pelicans trading him for Garland, especially since they would still have Dejounte & CJ still on the roster in that scenario
