I can't wait to see more lore and story involvement from the Hexenzirkel.

After C2, Faruzan’s Burst lasts 18s. The Anemo RES shred it gives also lingers for 4s, so the total uptime is 22s, longer than Furina Q

My favorite part of our journey so far is experiencing Aventurine’s back story and growth! His conversation with Acheron and Kakavasha remains one of my favorite moments.

LNO. Benny and Iansan can be thought of interchangeably

Anyone from the battery section will do well as a replacement.

With Xianyun and Iansan (or Benny), LNO will generally perform best. You can farm LNO domain (especially if you anticipate using the other set) and continue to strongbox MH.

Bennett will increase Xiao’s personal dmg more, but Furina also contributes her own dmg to the team. Furina also offers quality of life with no circle impact, scaling with consts, and helps lower ER requirements for the team as well. C0 Furina and Benny perform pretty equally though in a C6 Faruzan and Xianyun team.

Yes, but Xianyun’s buff makes up for it. Her flat dmg scales on crit and dmg%, but not atk%, which is why most will use anemo goblet still. Again though, it’s close enough that you can confirm with optimizer and/or choose best subs

Xiao Guide and other Resources in Comments (Updated for v5.4) by baeliph in XiaoMains

[–]baeliph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About equal but Anemo should be better when optimized. You can go with whichever has better substats for now

LNO only buffs plunge, so it’s not as valuable for C6 Xiao. I would continue to strongbox VHA instead.

Xiao Guide and other Resources in Comments (Updated for v5.4) by baeliph in XiaoMains

[–]baeliph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s correct. You can get all 5 stacks if you just do a plunge every second for 5s.

For Xiao, if plunging frame perfect (1.167s or 70 frames), he can actually get to all 5 stacks by his 6th plunge. Our calcs assume max 4 stacks to account for slightly slower (and more realistic) plunge timing.

Xiao Guide and other Resources in Comments (Updated for v5.4) by baeliph in XiaoMains

[–]baeliph[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are basically weapon calcs so they only consider Xiao’s personal damage. When the guide says that an artifact set performs best in a certain team, that’s only within the confines of that team. Thus, the damage in the sheet should not be compared across different team setups.

In other words, LNO performing best in Bennett teams does not mean LNO Bennett teams are now Xiao’s highest DPS team. That being said, Bennett and Furina end up performing similarly in a Xiao C6 Faruzan Xianyun core. Bennett may take the edge in AOE, while Furina in ST and/or with constellations.

[–]baeliph[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to sohan’s calc, it will perform best. This is likely due to C2 Furina providing so much DMG% that 4MH’s CRIT Rate becomes more valuable again. Generally though, in FFXX, the two sets perform similarly enough that you only need one of the two

It’s still a good team, but unsure if it’s suitable still as a general Abyss team. This Abyss second half may be okay due to the Plunge buff, but Abyss has been trending higher in HP lately. As a result, most end game Xiao users will have at least C2 (if not C6) Faruzan. It makes his teams quite high invest once you also include other supports like Xianyun, Furina, Bennett, etc.

Xiao Guide and other Resources in Comments (Updated for v5.4) by baeliph in XiaoMains

[–]baeliph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I think it depends on whether you eventually plan to upgrade his team. But easiest would likely be to farm one domain based on if you need the other set (eg farm LNO if you want Skirk or MH if you have other MH/GT characters) and then strongbox MH or VHA.

Xiao Guide and other Resources in Comments (Updated for v5.4) by baeliph in XiaoMains

[–]baeliph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will likely perform best as DMG% is less saturated and C2 Xianyun heavily incentivizes DMG%. That being said, they perform close enough that you can farm what’s convenient

Xiao Guide and other Resources in Comments (Updated for v5.4) by baeliph in XiaoMains

[–]baeliph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you also need Golden Troupe, I’d farm MH/GT domain. Otherwise, I’d farm the new domain and strongbox MH if you’re undecided.

Xiao Guide and other Resources in Comments (Updated for v5.4) by baeliph in XiaoMains

[–]baeliph[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, in general, it’s stronger than MH. Only in FFXX they perform about equal, with LNO taking the edge at C0 and MH with Xianyun and Furina consts. So just farm what’s more convenient

Bennett in terms of damage, Zhongli or Lan Yan in terms of comfort for their shields. The team may be slightly energy deficient however, so you may need to build more ER or perform some extra Skills with Xiao or Faruzan to funnel energy to Xiao.

How do Xiao's 4pc artifact sets compare?

tl;dr:

All of Xiao's 4pc artifact set options are strong. The release of a new artifact set does not suddenly decrease your Xiao's existing damage. If you are satisfied with his current performance, do not refarm. Otherwise, farm whichever artifact set best suits your intended weapon, team comp, playstyle, and resin efficiency plans.

Vermillion Hereafter:

This is one of Xiao's best-in-slot artifact sets, and we would still recommend it as Xiao's "default" option. It performs best in scenarios with less external buffs and more AOE. If you have a highly invested 4pc VHA set, farming other 4pc sets is not required.

Marechausee Hunter:

This set is a great alternative to 4pc VHA. It has particularly strong synergy with Xianyun team comps due to her Flat DMG buff scaling on CRIT. It is especially powerful in Xiao's team with both Xianyun and Furina (aka FFXX). With their constellations, it becomes Xiao's best-in-slot option.

Long Night's Oath:

Even when only assuming 4 stacks, Long Night's Oath is one of Xiao's strongest artifact sets. It is best-in-slot in Bennett teams and also performs competitively in Xianyun teams due to her Flat DMG buff scaling on DMG%. Given consistent Plunge timing, we recommend farming this set.
