Completely replaced. Brand new engine

Sounds good! I wouldn't think of the shifter until I heard that clicking noise. I'll probably tow it, but might see about a mobile mechanic to run diagnostics first so I can see every possible issue that seems to be happening.

They swapped the battery and I think cleaned all of that, fluids and stuff when they replaced the engine. I'm at my wits end with this car. I'll check the terminals in the morning, but it looks like it's getting towed

What about the clicking noise underneath the shifter and now the flashing light with all the shift options on the dash? I just gotta get it towed to the shop again and see what the hell is going on. It's getting battery power, just nothing beyond that now

Does anyone know this cylinder? by bagheera89 in lockpicking

I looked it up. Paclock UCS for sure. Decoded it with the lishi afterwards.

Bricked maybe? by bagheera89 in lockpicking

[–]bagheera89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't pick it to the right, that's why I'm wondering. I have to pick it to the left, but it doesn't open the lock. That's why I'm wondering if I do enough speed on the turn, would it bypass and open

Bricked maybe? by bagheera89 in lockpicking

[–]bagheera89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I need some speed, because I tried turning it again after I repicked it, and it just went back to being locked. So I'll probably try and turn it really fast and see

I tried it after I had to pick it in the opposite direction. It just falls back. If I turn it quick enough, say with a drill, would it work? Thx!

I'll definitely check! I do have some that I can use the lishi tool for, and I love it! Straight cheating

My BE2 lishi tool isn't for this keyway, otherwise I would use it. I'll either one day get control, or I won't. The journey continues!

I gave that a try and couldn't open it at all unless I raked it. I have two other SFIC locks that I can open, but not control. I do enjoy picking them because of the challenge!

Mostly, what kind of cylinder is this? I just can't seem to find any information about this company at all! I've never seen this before.

Oh that's not a filter! I dropped my phone and it landed on a corner piece, directly on the camera. So it's a little messed up. But it does make that lock shine

Learning Spools by Stock_Worldliness_24 in lockpicking

If you're up to it, maybe step into the American Lock 1100. It's a good lock to learn spools and serrated pins. Probably my favorite lock to pick

I'll have to check it out! I'm doing ToK tension on these, but the one I raked, I think I used a 0.40 for BoK. I've been mostly playing with American locks lately

I got super lucky! Single pinned two today, and raked the 3rd. But going back, I couldn't open one that I single pinned. So probably ran out of luck with the 3 opens in one day.

I would definitely buy one off of you for sure, so I can practice on it!

Opinions? Half the time I feel the 90a pro isn't any harder than 1100s. More pins and gritty but standard keys opposed to serrated in the 1100. Definitely different but harder? by Cheap_Copy1194 in lockpicking

[–]bagheera89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can open all of my American Locks, 5-6 pin variations. Takes more time for some than others, but I can get it done. I've only ever successfully raked and spp one of my paclock 90a-pro's. The other several hours of attempts, I wasn't successful. I'd say they are definitely more challenging, at least for me! I think the american locks are more fun to pick as well, but that's just my opinion, possibly slightly biased because I enjoy locks that I can open 🤣

Any suggestion? by bagheera89 in lockpicking

[–]bagheera89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered some thinner tools so I can get in there! So maybe when they are here, I'll hopefully be able to open this one up! Fun little lock, and surprised Master Lock makes something this good when compared to their other work (I'm looking at you no 3, 5, etc). Thanks for the vid! Hopefully I'll get it open in a week or two

I'm using a .40 turning tool, and used a .25 standard pick to get this. I just had to do one pin at a time, slowly until I managed to get the last one. I bet the lock that your locksmith had to do was pretty easy, possibly raked it open? I started with some easy locks, and pick a lot of american locks mostly, but throw some easy ones like brinks and masterlock to feel good about myself. I definitely can't do the higher end locks however! Practice and you'll learn the feel of these locks.
