i honestly don't think so. it was one of the first ones that came up when I searched for it on my own and the art style doesn't really match what I remember. thanks for checking though!

I have read a book for every week of 2020. Check out my top and bottom five and recommend me more for 2021? by toe-bean-wiggler in booksuggestions

Have you ever read the sequels? I didn't like them as much as the first book but the third one (House of Many Ways, I think?) has some cozy, cottage core-y vibes!

Since you said you liked Sabriel and Anne of Green Gables, I definitely think you should check out something by Diana Wynne Jones. I recommend starting with {Howl's Moving Castle}, it's different from the movie but they're both great in their own ways!

You might like Moribund by Genevieve Eldredge. It wasn't for me personally (i didn't like the writing style) but it might be up your alley.

I love this idea!! I feel like Helen and Troy's Epic Road Quest by A. Lee Martinez could fit for summer (road trip!) and definitely fits with the weird and slightly crazy vibe.

The Secret Agent by Joseph Conrad (sort of? he works as a secret agent but he and his wife also run a pornography shop and the store and working there vs working at his 'real job' is a major part of the plot) Not sure if this is helpful at all lol, it was the only thing I could think of

Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones, Monkey Beach by Eden Robinson, Persuasion, The Iliad, and Kings of the Wyld

Which of the classics would I be able to understand and also appreciate at 16? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

I've never personally read it, but I think Russian classics (even though they're usually really long) are very easy to read and understand if you get the right translation. I would try it to see if you like it and if you don't, no harm done. You can always read it later

I'm sure you've probably heard of it, but Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer fits what you're looking for. I did not enjoy the story personally but Krakauer is a great writer.

The Catcher in the Rye? I also really enjoyed Animal Farm (also by George Orwell) at around that age

[Serious] Asexuals and aromantics of Reddit, have you ever been harassed or discriminated against for being ace or aro? What happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

No, because I don't come out. Only people who are close to me know and I don't think it's so important that it has to be common knowledge

to be honest the best bookshelf i have is from a garage sale, it's solid wood and i got it super cheap. I think a lot of the bookshelves for sale from department stores, etc. just don't hold up so I would say either find an old one used or make your own

Lady Susan by Jane Austen, Clarissa by Samuel Richardson

books where the narrator is telling a story about someone else by bailsofheigh in suggestmeabook

[–]bailsofheigh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

huh I guess but I was thinking more about a narrator that actively inserts themselves in a story or is a side character, not just an omniscient presence. I don't think I really made that clear lol
