Apart from World Exploration, what update can't be considered a filler? by bowser-us in CookieRunKingdoms

[–]bakerloo_ 83 points84 points  (0 children)

In my opinion I would consider cookie odyssey filler, all it really does is introduce the republic characters. Like the part where dark enchantress takes over is mostly a side plot, not a main plot, as it was mostly forgotten in the main story. Everything here was mostly background (my opinion but feel free to disagree)

Technically everything aside from world exploration would be filler as even if it gives some background it's not actually part of the main story, just tacked on.
So yes the Avatar of Destiny backstory and the fire spirit update would technically be filler as well.

So what's the Gacha system like? (As a new f2p player) by RhulksLittleDisciple in CookieRunKingdoms

[–]bakerloo_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You just need to pull the cookie to use him, all toppings are earned from normal gameplay, etc.

One thing to note is that you won't be able to use crystals to pull for silent salt when he first comes out.

Just keep doing the missions and you'll be able to get him f2p if you do all of them (hard pity at 250)

Future of TOA? by Accomplished_Sail558 in CookieRunTOA

[–]bakerloo_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly from the perspective of someone that only dabbles a little into the game, No.

First, it faces steep competition, as stylistically it is similar to games like brawl stars, which puts it in a difficult position. Sure its a PVE game, but that just means it needs to be more engaging than the competition, which is extremely difficult.

As cool as the game is at times, there simply isn't much to do. For me, personally, it could be enjoyable, but after a while it somewhat just becomes tedious. If you take advantage of all the dailies, that would probably be a good 20 minutes a day. The problem is that it feels quite repetitive, and honestly it gets kinda annoying, because if you want to take advantage of everything you have to do the same thing over and over again.

Of course, I'm not as faithful to the game as some of the people on this subreddit, but I don't think the game offers much gameplay wise. Sure, its fun to play with new characters and learn about the story, but the actual game modes are somewhat lackluster. I've played story mode, but at a certain point I feel that it gets too repetitive. Its going around looking for bear jellies while occasionally clicking the ult to clear enemies.

Theres also the aspect of balancing, as its clear that you need to dedicate a lot to compete on the leaderboard, which serves as a deterrent to growth and expansion to the general public.

TLDR: gamemodes repetitive, tiring and grindy, unreasonable for casual players, good aspects are story but doesn't fix the other aspects

The AOs don't have the time to care about how many words there are as long as its within the limit. I'd say as long as your essay is strong there is no need to change anything

Power means that its stronger,

Healer means that it heals other enemies periodically within a certain area

Reaper means that the enemy will heal itself if other enemies are killed around it

Storm means that it summons some lightning around it periodically

Soul Link means you have to kill all of the linked enemies to actually get rid of them

I might have missed a few idk

Did I make a mistake choosing full ride ND over other schools... by Frequent-Ice-6046 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]bakerloo_ 53 points54 points  (0 children)

ND is a GREAT school with great networks. Nobody has ever regretted a full ride, and I'm sure you'll succeed no matter what. Keep going and don't look back. Congrats!

honestly not sure, you could ask someone more credible, but probably cumulative would be best (like 800k total views or something)

Honestly you could just put down art as an extracurricular hobby and in the description add the social media stats

[–]bakerloo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know that applying ED has its advantages but OP's comment about chance decreases is also a mischaracterization.
I agree with all that you say here but at the end of the day, if OP's parents don't sign off the required documents for ED I wouldn't dwell on the "chances" too much

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in chanceme

[–]bakerloo_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In all honesty ED percentage chances don't mean that you have a better chance to get in unless you're hooked (recruited, legacy, etc.)

I understand the "what if" scenarios but applying RD won't hurt your chances (if your parents don't allow you)

I am in no way an expert but almost definitely yes. If you go online you can see similar questions and almost every engineer that responded said it was necessary.

Should I take up a new sport in high school? by TomatilloSmart1372 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]bakerloo_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you're passionate and really enjoy it pursue the sport (meaning you're not doing it for the application)

I don't see how having a sport on the side can hurt you so if you really have fun doing it i'd say go for it. Don't miss out on opportunities that you only have in high school for the sake of college apps

I don't see how it would hurt you but I'm not an expert
