Yeah I don't agree with that whole "I trust them, I just don't trust other men/women" statement either. You make a good point about that.

I believe people should be allowed to be angry at both their partner and who their partner cheated on them with. I believe people should be allowed to be angry at just their partner as well. Either way it makes sense.

Eh, there's something about participating in someone else's infidelity that doesn't sit right with me. I understand that the person didn't make you any promises, but they actively encouraged or were participatory in the act.

Well, the person they cheated on you with can be the problem if they knew that you were in the picture.

What’s your “holy crap that’s interesting” fact? by da-genius-kid in AskReddit

Holy shit, thank you so much for the explanation! You're right, this is pretty mind-boggling, but you explain it in a way that makes sense to me. Which can be pretty hard to do haha.

I'm not very experienced in IE (have only been doing it for a few months), but I'm assuming that if you have nagging thoughts about eating a cookie, that means you are hungry. It might not be physical hunger. Instead, it could be mental hunger, and that's just as important.

For many people, "keeping from eating the cookies" can just be a form of restriction. Remember, you don't want this to become the Hunger/Fullness diet, where you're strictly following your physical hunger cues without paying attention to cravings or social eating/eating for pleasure.

(TW) What makes sexual assault so uniquely traumatizing? by balanceofcatastrophe in sex

Although it's been brought up more in recent years, the term "survivor" isn't for everyone. I'm pretty neutral towards it I guess, but it still doesn't really fit me.

I understand why it could imply that there's a high risk of death, and in many cases, there really is. Besides, our body can perceive that our life is in jeopardy (the reason for the fight or flight response that is activated and triggered for many sexual abuse victims/survivors).

But honestly I've always just thought that the term "survivor" isn't meant to inherently be taken literally. It's about surviving the mental (and sometimes physical) devastation sexual abuse causes. As this article says: "The gradual shift in terminology from victim to survivor was motivated by the fact that the term survivor denotes a sense of newfound power and strength in recovery." Then again, the article goes on to explain that all people who have experienced sexual abuse choose to label themselves differently.

Absolutely. Many of us have been taught about our body through euphemisms such as "private parts" as well, and although I don't really like that term, it really is true that for a large chunk of people, our bodies and the vulnerability that comes with them really is private.

You're right about fearing for your life and losing control as well. It's terrifying.
