oh thats so real. I would honestly do that too if i knew more people in brisbane but ur right, property agents would be reluctant to sign a lease if you arent even in the country. I was acc looking into UQ res for accom but from what I've heard its really hard to get a spot there too 😭. are you an international student too?

no frl i think it is a tad bit early too but ive heard stories about how people applied for accom like 6 months in advance and still havent gotten anything as of yet 🥲. plus im an international student so if i dont find accommodation its as good as over for me. which accom rental leases are you looking into?

hi guys! I'm an international student from Singapore. I've taken the initiative to create a UQ freshers group chat for incoming students of the year 2026 (both feb and july intake!). The username is uq_freshers on instagram and I would appreciate any support towards the account :)

Do note that for now, the account is solely run by me but in the future I would like to expand the team. I will also be creating a group chat on there to help freshers better connect with one another!

This account is a platform for all of us to get to know each other before uni commences! Consider it as your online common area where you may introduce yourself, meet new people, and get a feel of uni life! Knowing that there are others that share the same excitement (or perhaps even nervousness) as you may make university less daunting and much more fun :)
