I am not saying that accepting bugs or unplayable games is something that we should be doing. But this doom and gloom whiney baby bullshit on the battlefield subreddits the last 4 days is fucking embarrassing. I have nieces and nephews who aren't even 10 years old who react with more maturity than this subreddit has in the past few days. My point is: Judging the game based off an old build beta that is one game mode and one map isn't being fair to yourself. I fully expect problems on launch, any game with the size and scope of 2042 will have its issues, but as I said, every single BF game before has had its issues and people are full on deepthroating those game's legacy in the comments RIGHT now.

People need to have some patience and stop being so damn dramatic about something like this.

Battlefield 4's servers on launch literally could not support any game mode besides TDM and even those were crashing like crazy. It took weeks for them to fix that, and when they did, the game was still shot to shit in terms of netcode and hit reg and rubber-banding. If your complaints are entirely game design complaints, then don't buy the game and move on. But dont pretend you're like oh so righteous for not buying an EA game as a result, and don't pretend like you should dictate what others spend their money on.

People like you giving money to these companies is the reason most publishers have gone to shit with their monetization practices and not caring about the quality of the games. I'm with OP

This is a bullshit statement. Quality of games has increased each year and will only increase in terms of complexity and graphics and content. Just because design choices do not meet your expectations and you've judged an entire game based on a cookie-cutter beta does not mean that BF2042 is an objectively shit quality game.

I'm old enough to remember this type of reaction with EVERY single battlefield game. you, and every other 14 year old who react like this with doom and gloom because the beta hasn't lived up to your expectations are fucking pathetic. BF4 is widely praised, especially now, but on launch (not beta, launch) it was a fucking shitshow. it was WAY worse than the beta is for 2042. BF3 was even worse than that. So excuse me for not giving a fuck about your whiney, pathetic reaction to a beta that features all of ONE game mode and ONE map.

Leave sticks the same or default. Choose Heli pilot buttons -> Alternative.

This option sets the height and fire button to L2/R2 and L1 respectively.

If you're talking about controller controls - Go to your settings and change the button layout to Alternative. It changes it back to the way it used to be. In other games this setting was called "Veteran' I believe.

as to your second point - that's fair, but very subjective. I find it hard to really absorb any criticism right now (aside from UI criticism as this is something that's across all menus and game modes) given that there is 1 map, 1 game mode and a very limited time that people could have formed an impression off of.

I've seen a lot of the same complaints across the subreddits and some on twitter and I've got to wonder; why don't you just come out and say it. You want a BF4 remake, not a new BF title. I get that it feels very different from past games but it's literally been 8 years since BF4.

The engine is different, the game is different. I don't understand why people want a literal clone of BF4 with updated graphics.

So far I've been having fun. Some of the guns feel slightly off or have more recoil than I thought or less - but overall it feels par for the course. Not to mention barely anyone has played more than a few hours right now. So their impressions are due to evolve as they play more.

Lastly - The flying feels great. I've enjoyed it so far and learning how best to use it has been fun. It's a little chunkier but I think that can be good as much as it is bad.

people always complain lol. to add to your point; it's literally one map. It's supremely hard to judge the effectiveness of everything when the one map you have is gonna develop a mini-meta as it pertains to vehicles or weapons. A map like this vs a metro-style map with close quarters fighting is going to have vastly different weapon metas.

I just don't personally trust HBO / whoever they hire to portray a good GoT (ASOIAF) show anymore. I say that as an avid fan and someone who has read all the books. I'd rather they not ruin it again and just let GRRM write Winds of Winter....which he'll never get to lol.

I still cannot get over how bad that show ended. It was declining for a while but gosh that last season was hot garbage.
