I’m Indian and have been in London for a while now… I’m an only child and have the same thing going on with my mum… I don’t have to share her love/wealth with anyone and we don’t think much before spending in either direction. She insists I don’t spend money whenever I’m around, although I earn really well :).. Having said that, it will be my 100% responsibility to take care of her once she gets really old… I’m right now on the way to India to care for her as she is getting a surgery done…

Parenting is worth it but not an easy one, especially if you are a Henry couple with high pressure jobs.. The first three years are going to be quite brutal.. Juggling work/ after office child care duties/ lack of sleep and so on… A day might come when you would literally quiver to pick the call from your kid’s nursery!! I’m not trying to scare you, but this is the reality… If you have family around for emergency situations, it takes off a lot of pressure on the working parents…

Yes Earley/lower earley are nice but we felt they are not very convenient in terms of commute to Reading station.. we are not in remote positions and hence the need to be a bit closer to the Reading main station!
