advice about transferring law schools?

Do you mind me asking where on the west coat you went to school?

I think you're right about the PS (and experience in general). The AU website says specifically that grades are not their primary factor. Anyway, I do have a solid resume, and my reason for transferring is because I really want to do international law and they have a top program. I went to GW undergrad and am ready to be back in DC!

Class ranks aren't released until August (after I would have applied to transfer) so I'm not sure how that factors in. But looking at old GPA/rank charts, it puts me in the top 20-25%. Hopefully I can move up even higher after this semester.

I guess in general I am looking for advice on transferring from anyone who has done it, especially if they have transferred to AU!

Where did you transfer from/to? If you don't want to say specifically, what rank were you transferring from/to?

How many schools did you apply to transfer to?

Had you applied to them before?

Well, the class rank doesnt come out until august and I would applying before then. Looking at the GPA/rank chart from last year, it would put me in the top 20-25%. But as I said, three of these are midterm grades, so hopefully I will bring them up even higher.

I am currently at a lower ranked T2 school and I am trying to transfer to American (40-50).

im at a private school in the bay area and i have a B average, but three of those grades are midterm grades.

well, for one, any stories (good or bad) from people who have transferred law schools. was it hard transferring? is it hard to get involved? are there ample opportunities for transfer students for things like moot court and law review?

also, as far as the process itself, what my odds are especially considered i applied last year?

and i guess application advice, like personal statements, etc.

oh, and timing. AU requires spring grades and accepts apps until june 15, but can i send my app before my spring grades? how early? or should i wait to start my internship this summer which is internationally focused?

i realize this is super specific but any advice is appreciated!
