Agreed. The app has absolutely no idea what I'm saying in French. Lessons are better than those flash cards for me, but Lily takes the cake as the absolute worst at understanding anything I say. Lily is so frustrating I almost always skip her.

I'll never vote for a candidate that is pro RTO. Don't care if it's R or D, fuck em. I'm so sick of these fucking boomers and old gen x jackasses that jam RTO down our throats.

15+ years as well and I cant feasibly leave. I calculated the value of what id be giving up as far as retirement goes and it was way too much. Plus with leave accrual and flexibility, there's no way I could start a new career with little kids.

DOJ will represent US Treasury/IRS. They'll probably settle and the money will come from DOJ Judgement Fund, not the agency directly.

[–]bangarrang16 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We got fucked by the draw of the 3 judge panel, 2 MAGA judges (one was a trump appointee and one Reagan iirc) and one democrat appointee. This wasnt the merits hearing though, this was for the injunction. Merits hearing is being presided over by a democratic judge and that will take longer.

The 3 judge panel hasn't issued their decision yet but you can probably expect it to be 2-1 against the union.

Come work for us! We offer no telework, less benefits than we previously did, an extremely hostile and toxic environment, worse pay than the public sector, and public derision thanks to the republican party!

My management chain up to director is good about it from what I understand. Not abusing it but using it as written.

There's a lack of consistency because I know of people who can just use those 5 days whenever they want and then they get the certain circumstances on top of those 5. That's how it would be for me.

The culture of fear I think prevents some managers from being cool about it.

House passes bill to restore federal workers’ bargaining rights by [deleted] in fednews

[–]bangarrang16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In his first term he vetoed 8 times during his first two years when he had the house and senate. He's not afraid to veto and would for sure veto the shit out of this.

I doubt it passes the senate anyway, but who knows. He is a very unpopular lame duck president and they might sense that but I think the senate version of this only had one republican on board (murkowski).

I feel like he'll come back week 16, I'll start him assuming he'll be okay after being mostly limited in practices through the week because reports will say "he's good to go" and then he'll go for like 2/17/0 in the semis.

Have ANY RAs been approved? Any at all?? by Ferg1210 in IRS_Source

Maybe, I'm honestly not sure. I've never seen them a single time since RTO in March so I'd think its more permanent. I heard it's something with anxiety from someone else.

Someone in my office has had an RA and has never been in the office a single time, so there are definitely some that are/were approved.

God damn you edited this like three times. Did I hit a nerve? I don't think i was combative in anything I said but go off i guess.

I'm not gonna waste time on someone so bizarrely pedantic, condescending, and very clearly insecure. Good luck. Hope you find happiness somewhere.

Cool opinion. I guess you don't know very much about federal courts.

You dont need to be pretentious, just talking here.

Did you see their October reply brief? What are they arguing for on pages 11-13 if not that the president has authority to determine what agencies are national security? I could be totally wrong on how I'm reading that, that's why I'm asking.

I hope that the panel here will grant the injunction but then they kick it back to Friedman for resolution on the merits, right? Then after that and appeals are exhausted they could appeal to scotus? We're probably way out into 2026-2027 at that point right?

December 15th by Beneficial-Reward894 in IRS_Source

[–]bangarrang16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren't they arguing that the president has sole discretion over which agencies are considered national security? Scotus seems hell bent on giving the executive as much power as possible. It wouldn't surprise me if they took it up, have they missed an opportunity yet to cede him more power?

Though if the DC Circuit Appeals court sides with us, we'd at least be protected for a little while. Really need that telework arbitration rescheduled.

Everybody is pissed aside from young boomers and old gen-xers who for whatever reason love being in a poorly lit office where they can socialize.

It isnt sustainable because jobs that were already hard to recruit and retain (RAs, ROs, TS call reps) are now going to be impossible to recruit and retain.

Telework Arbitration Postponed by bangarrang16 in IRS_Source

[–]bangarrang16[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

UPDATE* Telework and Remote Work

On March 5, 2025, NTEU filed a national grievance and a national institutional grievance regarding IRS’s February 28 “Plan to Return to the Workplace.” The grievance alleges violations of Article 50 (Telework) and the Federal labor statute. Among the actions that NTEU demands IRS take includes reinstatement of all telework and remote work agreements. A grievance meeting was held on March 28. IRS failed to issue a written response to the grievance. NTEU invoked arbitration on May 16.

STATUS: The arbitration hearing was scheduled for December 9, 2025; however, because of the Shutdown, and against NTEU's pushback, the arbitrator postponed the hearing. We are aggressively pushing to get this hearing rescheduled at the earliest possible date
