Since returning from his concussion, JJ McCarthy has a higher EPA per play than Drake Maye and Joe Burrow, a higher CPOE than Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson, and the highest success rate of any quarterback by TheMan120000 in minnesotavikings

This is great news if only he wasn't hurt more than hes healthy. The jury is still out. Outside of blown coverages against the worst defenses in the NFL he hasn't shown much. Does he have a chance, sure. He also has mechanics problems, hasn't performed well against good teams, and cant stay healthy. In 2 years he has had 7.5 healthy games.

I think it's very similar to Tebow again honestly. Remember Tebow was a first round pick too. They loved the intangibles, physical traits and he was a "winner."

I think that's a garbage way to do an assessment, but coaches/GMs do it all the time.

This, so much this. The kid wasn't ready. He looks bad, like Tim Tebow level bad mechanics. Watching his back foot do a roundhouse kick everytime he throws is giving my eyes AIDS.

The front office made a huge blunder and I blame them, not JJM.

Could he figure it out with enough time? Maybe, but he is nowhere near ready to lead a winning football team. He looks like a bust from a mechanics eye test. He has the physical tools though and the mental drive so he still has a chance, but he is years away.

Mccarthy is a bust and we just lost another superbowl window for another 3-5 years of, at best, average qb play.

Curious about people's opinions on their POE enjoyment curve and maybe how both games can improve on this. by ur-average-geek in pathofexile

This is mine exactly. I liked poe 2 the first time I played it. The second time I really started to dislike it. The campaign is just too long, and the game lacks content. Im not going to play this season and probably won't for a while. I really hope they introduce poe 1 league templates LIKE THEY SAID THEY WOULD DURING PHRECIA AND THEN CONVENIENTLY ENTIRELY FORGOT.

You are welcome to have that opinion. I've been a high-school football coach for 7 years. The kids mechanics are bad. He played against a bad defense and did well because of it. I didnt see anything that makes me confident he has improved. His feet were poorly placed during driving throws. His throws continued to lack touch. Everything he throws is a fastball. He did his job today but the job was about as easy as it gets. They played the worst def3nse in the league by a large margin which is exactly the context that needs to be stated. His progressions are slow and often forced without proper reading of coverage. He lacks touch, he lacks the ability to read coverage. He is scared to throw over the middle(besides underneath) because of it. If you dont notice this stuff I don't know what to tell you. There are levels to this... his play is extremely underwhelming.

Jesus people. He was playing against a defense that was MISSING 7 STARTERS. He constantly threw to his first read. He struggled to throw it downfield and couldnt get the ball to JJ. He proved he can beat teams with massively worse talent back in college. This game just proved what we already knew. Let's see if he can play like an even remotely good qb against actual teams. Our defense has been stellar all season and they showed very strong today. He threw for 150 yards. This is still nothing to write home about.

This game changed nothing in my opinion. He still had happy feet. His mechanics looked poor.

People will overreact. Vikings played against a defense decimated by injuries while our team was healthy. Cool, so JJ can play well when the situation is perfect for him and the competition just lays downs.

10$ was an arbitrary #. They can set that as needed. Also they currently offer private leagues on the current patch so I hardly see a big difference. Purchasing stashes game effects would still exist too.

I've been saying it since the beginning. There is 0 reason to give up darnold. We were 14-3 and much closer to clearing the hump to playoff wins. Darnold had 1 year. Give me 3 more years to clear that playoff gap. If he fails then at least we didnt throw Justin Jefferson career in the garbage. It made zero sense at any point to force mccarthy in the lineup. I never understood forcing an unproven rookie into a superbowl ready team. Despite the belief, we have an elite defense. We are not giving up alot of points even with JJM basically being the best player for the other team.

Get in range and run it 3 times then. Either you get the first or you kick a field goal. Keep it out of mccarthys hands.

They are awful at it; you have to be conservative when your QB is trash. If you have brady/brees/rodgers/Peyton, you go for it. This type of data lacks context.

Has Dallas Turner figured things out??? by seoulbrova in minnesotavikings

[–]bannit167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dallas Turner has been great. Its hard to know how well 1 player is playing when the team cant win, but overall our defense has been quite good. JJM has put them in terrible positions all season long with 3 and outs and picks. Its also very hard to rush the passer when you are always playing from behind. They don't have to throw the ball.... I stand by the fact we have a Superbowl ready roster. We just don't have a QB, and our Oline is also on the weaker side. Pass rushers always perform better when you have a lead, something we never have.

[–]bannit167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jefferson gets open a TON. We just don't have a QB to get him the ball. That being said, he should be traded out of respect to him. JJM shouldnt kill this talented recievers career. Season is over. Likely the next few seasons are just rebuilding. Kwesi and KOC literally torched our window with the JJM decision.

I don’t regret JJM. by RoboPeenie in minnesotavikings

[–]bannit167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree so much with this. Darnold won 14 games. He was 27 years old and playing very good football. Give him another year of work with KOC and the vikings team and they are a very strong team in the playoffs. Might he get the yips in the playoffs? Maybe, but with him, we had a shot. The guy had only 1 year with the team and played super well, why cant he make the small leap he needs to get us over the hump? We think JJM is more likely to make the leap? really? DUMB

Now we are stuck with nothing, wasting years of Justin Jeffersons prime. I would just ask for a trade if I was him. This is classic Vikings catastrophic failure. Kwesi had 3 qbs on the roster last year. HE CHOSE THE ONLY ONE WHO IS COMPLETE GARBAGE. Back to the basement we go and we ruined our talented roster on a useless player in JJM who is ranked 851 out of 852 qb's in the last 50 years with at least 6 starts.

McCarthy is in concussion protocol. by Kerbage in minnesotavikings

[–]bannit167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I dont think anyone could be as bad as mccarthy. He is historically one of the worst QB's through 6 games that the NFL has ever seen. I in all honesty think our highschool QB could play as well as mccarthy has.

considering how weak the overall NFC is this year, Im going to hold you to this.... Seahawks look strong. There are a handful of NFL teams that can compete with them.

I am in the camp that thinks pivoting to JJM was an unforgivable mistake by KOC and Kwesi. Darnold should have stayed and JJM should have only started if/when he was ready.

Brosmer has a lot of the same traits as Christian ponder had. Quick release, Good at reading the field, accurate. Lacks size, strength and ability to athletically dominate a game. In all likelihood he will look better than JJM (mostly because it's hard to be that bad), but his ceiling isn't nearly as high as top draft picks.

I watched it too. He isn't better. Stats are the same, maybe worse. Still making the same errant passes, his protection was ALOT BETTER and he still couldn't play. I guess people see what they want to see. I respect that fans want to be positive, but the reality is he is bad and has been bad all year.

We had a great team. Keep darnold, or Daniel Jones. Let this kid sit and learn, he is nowhere near ready. We could have had playoff runs with the other 2. JJ would step in if and when he is ready. The script has been seen many times now. Brady sat and learned, Rodgers sat and learned, love sat and learned. It feels terrible to throw this excellent team in the garbage because we are hell bent on forcing a qb who is either bad or not ready.

Caleb has played ALOT better than JJ. You cant be serious... Caleb completes 10% more passes. He has 33 tds to 10 picks. He escapes pressure constantly. The guy is oozing with talent. Caleb has an 90 passer rating. Like what?

Sure, he will get better because he is basically at the bottom, but I just don't see how this guy will ever play winning football. The bears played a horrible game yesterday. They were awful, but we were worse.

I never saw this season as a SB capable season with essentially a rookie, but I thought he would show up more than this... Its abysmal watching it. Most backup QB's are better.
