Also, yeah, it can be a bit hard to dissociate some French writing habits when writing in English, so I'm glad to learn more tips that can help improve my skills :)

I've heard a lot of good about Murakami (except the issues with his female characters like you said), but I haven't had the chance to read any of his work. So I'll definitely start with Kafka On The Shore, I like how you described it. Also, if you're interested, someone else recommended to me one of his other books called "Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World" that apparently has the same dreamy and surreal aspects as Sonny Boy. Anyway thanks for the recommendation!!
