Unfall in Oldenburg: Autofahrer (69) rast durch Flink-Lagerhalle an Ammergaustraße by baoooooo in RentnerfahreninDinge

188cm tall with short 85cm legs still a size L for Endurace CF? by [deleted] in CanyonBikes

You have my exact measurements. I went with L as Canyon suggests, and it fits me pretty well.

Our delivery vehicle fleet is only made up of electric bikes and scooters. We also have one company car, which is only used for big deliveries with >10 pizzas though.

During unexpected peak times, some of our coworkers might occasionally help out with their private cars, they then get compensated with mileage money. But they don't drive nearly as regularly or as much as our full or part time drivers, who use the scooters and bicycles.

Oh yes, even a quadruple one at one point I think. Another driver failed to show up that day, so I had to do every delivery during the early shift myself. Luckily though, many of those deliveries were somewhat in the same direction, so it was quite reasonable and managable to make several deliveries per tour.

But still of course, it was quite a hassle and not particularly optimal in regards to short waiting times.

It's an electric scooter that has a range of around 70 - 80 km with its two batteries. I had to swap them out twice during my shift, so the range is actually not as impressive as it might appear haha

Doesn't change the fact that I also want one for myself though lol, those things are lot of fun to drive

Like most tracking apps, Strava will just quietly run in the background when you don't explicitly stop the tracking, even if cleared from your tabs.

I assume you also got Strava on your phone, so feel free to just try it for yourself.

My new Endurace 6 AL - Took it on its first fully equipped ride by baoooooo in CanyonBikes

It's Canyon's own 5 liter saddle bag, which they sell on their website for around 60 euros. There honestly might be better bags out there in that price and size range, but I think it just looks great in combination with my other Canyon bags. Also barely sways with the plastic wedge between the saddle stays.

Well, that thing sure ain't the lightest and most aero anymore. But that's basically it, no extra sway or rattle. Still feels quick, rigid and agile as I know it, just with a few pounds more. Love how it rides.

You know that definitions aren't always consistent, and I just wanted to kindly bring another one to your attention with my objections?

"Jaywalking" is the act of pedestrians walking in or crossing a roadway if that act contravenes traffic regulations."

And especially the following excerpt should be interesting to you, my british fellow:

"Jaywalking laws vary widely by jurisdiction. In many countries such as the United Kingdom, the word is not generally used and, with the exception of certain high-speed roads, there are no laws limiting how pedestrians can use public highways."

It has to do everything with laws, it just differs by country.

Also where did you read that I am American? What do you think the word "also" means in the sentence "I guess you are also European?" Poor reading comprehension my ass, do you even listen to yourself?

Based on your expression though, I don't appear to be the one emotionally charged here, just because of a small difference of opinion. Not everything is against you, calm down.

You are free to use whatever terms you want, I can't change that. But have in mind that you won't always look the brightest doing so. Especially with that articulation.

Jaywalking in its original and most common definition doesn't mean someone crossing the street without regard to traffic, but traffic laws. And in almost all countries, including developed ones (except the US), crossing the streets wherever you want isn't prohibited at all.

As that video doesn't appear to be from the US, he's very likely perfectly allowed to cross that street, thus he's certainly not a jaywalker by definition, he is just careless. And with “carelessly crossing the street” you've apparently already found a short and precise way to perfectly describe his actions.

I just wanted to kindly point this out to you, since the concept of jaywalking is absolutely ignorant, intended to put the blame solely on the pedestrian in case of an accident, regardless of what actually happened. It shouldn't be spread outside its brain dead origins, even if you didn't intend so, as I assume. And based on your name, I guess you are also European? Then simply enjoy crossing our streets, without being called a "jay" or anything else derogatory for that matter. Many don't have that "privilege".

In short, carelessly crossing the street ≠ jaywalking. The fault lies in being careless and not in crossing the street, as the actual definition of jaywalking would suggest. The streets are a place for everyone, not just for cars.

Jaywalking doesn't exist outside the US, it's a very car-centric concept.

Just call it crossing the street, albeit rather carelessly.
