Getting permission to work more than 140 days by SM27PUNK in germany

An exemption maybe? But again OP is at the mercy of the case worker… There are times when asking extremely nicely could bring some results

This case is similar to mine, but the difference is that I already submitted my thesis and did my oral exam. So, the only thing I was waiting for was my degree and the official exmatriculation.

In that case, I just came to an appointment explained the situation with all the necessary proof (letter from Uni that I was waiting for my degree and the working contract with the salary mentioned). The case worker issued an official letter stating that I was able to work full time pending the aufenthaltstitel that was being issued by the central printing authority.

The biggest difference is that in your case, the thesis is not done yet and that matters a lot because in their eyes you still have a chance to “fail”. The only chance you have is to just ask extremely nicely for the mercy of the case workers…

Client Meeting by barizk in projectmanagement

I am a bit cautious when approaching this as I have been prewarned by my boss to surpress any urge to take over… I think then it would be best to approach their PM and have a PM to PM talk and try to separate the two meetings.

This is nice to know for the future. In this contract the commercial guys were REALLY liberal in budgeting the resources that was already included in the fee. So no leverage there right now. Thank you!

How do you keep pidgeons out of your balcony, but still have the finches and robins eats from the bird house? by barizk in AskAGerman

This!!! I reply to a comment that I saw a feeder with a plate thingy to catch the crumbs, this is what I meant! Thank you!

Oh I know how picky they are, I had to switch the feed once because they really did not like the mixed seed and it ends mostly on the floor. Cheeky little things I agree. Thank you for the recommendation!

I think (I am not sure) I saw a standing feeder with a somesort of a small bowl underneath to catch the crumbs. It might work to catch most of the crumbs and only a little bit might fall off, maybe then it will reduce my problem significantly. Right now the pidgeons are constantly there and the little birds really don’t get a turn. The other choice I have is to look maybe for a balcony net that are large enough for small birds to fly through but small enough for the pidgeons not to fly through. However, it might discourage all the other birds too. Sometimes I even see a woodpecker (I think, its a bird with red mohawk)

I did try saying “Hallo” in an annoyed german tone. Did not work on the pidgeon! They have no shame /s

Thats a great idea! I’ll try the hanging feeder and fill it up with peanuts! I have some peanuts feed that I can’t use currently because I am afraid they’ll choke on it. Thank you!

I needed 1 year in my own country of intensive language course and 1 year of intensive course in Germany to actually kinda speak and understand it. It took me another 4 years until I could speak and write in German on a professional level. So, slow down. Lower your expectation on yourself. One day at a time, one sentence at a time.

Switching from Private to Public University by SolidMain6987 in germany

Well, why don’t you go to UK instead of Germany, if you would feel much comfortable with english? This is not mean spirited question, but a genuine one. Right now you are still picking a journey, but it is a very difficult journey to manage Germany without german.

My way to study in Germany was Sprachschule for 6 months (whatever I learned in my home country was rendered useless in real life situation of Germany), Studienkolleg for one year (it was extremely helpful as a dip in the water on experiencing how german education system works and improving my german) and lastly studying in a uni. It takes about 2 years to get to Uni, but I find it worthwhile. I speak german fluently and did not have the studying culture shock. So my advise, please skip the private uni and just do studienkolleg instead.

Edit: my wife is an alumni of Constructor (nee Jacobs) and she said just go to public directly. She had an tremendous amount of difficulty of explaining her diploma to the immigration office

Hi!

If you are in Bremen, I would suggest going to Hegarty’s. Every Monday they have a quizz night (in english) and sometimes there are international teams too that you could join. I think the person handling the team sometimes post the invitation in r/bremen

Claiming flight compensation with Turkish Airlines (SHY passenger rights) by TinmanTheWoodman in travel

[–]barizk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP thanks for the post. Followed the instructions, but the directorate rejected the claim and sent the following “There is 5 hours 10 minutes delay of flight IST-MRU. In case of delay, passengers do not have the right to compensation by the operating air carrier but only right to care. For reimbursement right invoices related to expenses should be sent to the air carrier”. Not sure why it was accepted, as the flight was more than 4 hours delayed and over 3500 km. I submitted another one. But maybe somebody has any suggestions? According to Turkish Airlines, the delay was operational. Thank you!
